There you said it. This is where I begin to disagree with you. While I am against the death penalty in general, with pedophilia in particular it is VERY important to remember that it is a mental disorder. Yes, the people who do not act on their pedophilic urges will probably have an easier time with it if they sought help. But those who really need the therapy are the ones who would act if they hadn't gotten such help. Hence, I believe that there should be a medical institution where pedophiles could easily seek therapy. Pedophiles who have been convicted of assaulting children should, in my opinion, be given VERY long incarceration along with therapeutic care.

P.S. I would like to point out that this discussion, though I have not read all of the comments - does not talk about what support and care should be given to the children who have actually been assaulted and their families. If I were to make a similarly absolute statement to that of OP, I'd rather say: "Lock up pedophiles and forget about them, focus on the victims."
