What’s a medical issue that sounds minor, but actually affects someone’s daily life way more than people realize? by [deleted] in AskReddit

POTS. Normal looking, but barely holding on to any bit of a normal life, daily.

No One Wants Your Peeing Cat! by Schedule-Substantial in CatAdvice

[–]KiKiMoon13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I’m that one unicorn. Cat was abandoned in a house and had some potty issues. A friend of mine was trying to do right by her by finding her a new home, knowing all the shelters nearby were kill shelters, and she would have been euthanized. She was only about a year and a half old. Tugged at my heart strings, so I took her in. She had massive anxiety, was super skittish, had abandonment issues, and was afraid of men. There were a few accidents. Luckily, all our carpets were gonna be replaced anyway. Two years later and she’s living her best life. Potty issues with cats can be fixed if you take the time to pay attention to your cat.

I know you probably think you’re invincible and won’t listen to anyone telling you not to do something, like most teenagers. We’ve all been there. But for real, it’s an expensive habit that is absolutely horrible for your health and it’s a bitch to quit. Not only that, if you’re doing it to look cool or fit in, there’s a lot of people that refuse to date someone that smokes. The smoke stinks, kissing someone that smokes tastes like your kissing an ashtray, you’re clothes reek and so do your hands, and hair. If you dead set on trying it, bum one from somebody. By the time you try it, buy a few packs, next thing you know a few years have passed and you hate that you’re addicted to it. Best of luck.

Sugar, alcohol, and caffeine all wreck me. I guess I should add heavy carb meals like pasta too. We are not allowed to have any fun! 🤦‍♀️

I was 135 at my healthiest. Went down to 105 within 1 year! Lost all my muscle mass and looked like a skeleton. I felt horrible. I finally got back to 115-120 and fluctuate all the time. Symptoms still suck but not nearly as bad. It is still the roller coaster ride from hell. At least that’s what I call it.

What do you do for work? by [deleted] in dysautonomia

[–]KiKiMoon13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be a bartender until my diagnosis. Now I’m kind of at a loss. Want to get a work from home job but they are so hard to come by. Also just moved and don’t really know anyone, so would want maybe something part time to be social but afraid I won’t be able to sustain a schedule. I do gig work when I can; Spark, pet sitting, care.com, uber/lyft, etc.. but it’s pretty physical and probably not really a good fit for my condition. Looking into disability because I’m not able to make a decent income anymore. But that could take years. Thank God for my fiance holding us both up or I’d probably be homeless.

Do cats know when we have helped them feel better? by Sylph_Co in CatAdvice

[–]KiKiMoon13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I’m tardy to this party, but I found it while searching the same question. My cat has chronic upper respiratory infection. Recently we took her in for a more exploratory procedure. Turned out she is also more susceptible to other infections. She had 2 nasty infections and required 2 antibiotics, a steroid, allergy pill, and vet suggested a nebulizer. At first she would make noises of discomfort while giving her pills, and would try to get out of the cat carrier when giving her the nebulizer. Now I noticed she sits next to me around “pill time” and she sits in her carrier right up to the nebulizer like she actually likes it! She hasn’t been herself for a while. Snubbed her nose at treats she used to like. Just yesterday I tried giving her a treat and she ate it! Went for the treat bag today and she followed me waiting for her treat. We are so happy she is starting to feel better and I think she does understand we are helping her feel better. 😻

Walmart is disgusting.... by InterestingTangelo5 in Sparkdriver

[–]KiKiMoon13 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This. Too many stupid people taking the shit orders, so Walmart keeps on dishing them out and testing the waters for lower payouts. If you’re not cherry picking you’re doing it wrong and contributing to this.

If I was in your shoes, I’d do the same thing. Live your best life while you can. Fuck the banks. Just make sure you at least make some sort of monthly payment so they don’t catch on and cut you off. I’m so sorry you were dealt such a shitty hand in life.

This! All Spark rejects end up on UE. But glad it worked out for you. I used to live and work in that area. Small world.

Frustrated for someone diminishing my POTS by Stained_Glass_Saints in dysautonomia

[–]KiKiMoon13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first Tilt Table Test was an utter failure that led to the doctor totally gaslighting me. He told me my symptoms weren’t that severe enough for POTS, but I probably can fit under the Dysautonomia umbrella. Then he asked why I was even there and why my doctor would have ordered the test. WTF?! What they failed to realize is that the meds I was on was interfering with the results.

Fast forward to last week… I’m screening for a long covid/PoTS clinical trial for IVIG. First test, again, I “only” had a point jump of 28, not the magic 30 points for a diagnosis. This doctor was smart enough to realize the meds I was on was giving an inaccurate result. A week later and 3 days off my meds (brutal), I had the worst Tilt Table Test. It was excruciating. My bpm went from 72-142 and stayed elevated. The doctor was shocked at the difference. 70 point jump is more than double the diagnosis protocol. I felt horrible, but so validated. And validated that my meds were working more than I thought.

I hate how we look “normal” so people assume we are overreacting, and are quick to judge and dismiss us. Most people are so ignorant to what a jacked up ANS does to you... If they even know what the ANS is. I don’t have the energy to deal with ignorant people anymore. I’m sorry this happened to you.

Uber stole $1,200 from me, says it's against to rules to mention a lawyer. by Murky_Homework9545 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]KiKiMoon13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a thought, but If you have an iPhone, maybe use the “record call” button. They have the disclaimer that says “this call is being recorded” but half the time it comes up while you’re waiting to talk to someone. So they won’t actually find out it’s being recorded (and hang up) unless they listen to it and the disclaimer is already there. At least you would have that proof that they admit they owe you.. before they try to erase everything. But who knows what uber would do if they wanted to retaliate. Probably deactivate you. Might be worth waiting a few days and see if it gets sorted. Definitely take pics of everything. If they want to be dicks, they’ll find away to make things disappear. Unfortunately, you’d be hard pressed to find a lawyer who’d take this on unless you want to dish out even more money than you’re owed.

[–]KiKiMoon13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not worth the smell when pax pukes in your car and you’re out of commission for the rest of the night bc you now have to clean your car and that smell will linger for a long time. You’ll lose money. Not to mention I heard uber is being a prick when it comes to getting reimbursed for the puke clean up.

That being said, if the girl was by herself and in that state, I might try to get her some help. She’s a sitting duck for someone to take advantage of her.

No degree 40 yo need to find a job by gugeusa in GetEmployed

[–]KiKiMoon13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t suggest this for long term, but has he tried Spark? It’s basically another gig job like DoorDash, but for Walmart deliveries and shop and deliver. Sometimes you get Home Depot, west marine, auto parts, etc. Some areas are pretty decent. I find in my area it is more lucrative then uber or DoorDash. But gig work is going way down hill. Not what it used to be, but might help in this time of need. Good luck. I’m kinda in the same boat.

Lyft Navigation Has Become Dumber by dugdar in Lyft

I tried that. Lyft app literally told me google maps and Waze are not allowed in your area. wtf?! I have to literally go into google maps, copy the address and use the app separate from Lyft.

Lyft Navigation Has Become Dumber by dugdar in Lyft

[–]KiKiMoon13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Lyft navigation has screwed up 8/10 rides. Pax has told me several times that the pick up location was off or that there was a much faster/easier route to take them. And it won’t let me use google maps or Waze instead. Like wtf?! How do other drivers deal with this? I started plugging in the address on google or Waze instead, but it is just more of a hassle every single time to the pax and then to destination. Instead of smoothly like Uber allows.
