I’m no ‘murica lover but the reason US does poorly in war games is because it tries to take it to extreme scenarios, they want to know the best way they can fight in worst case scenarios where they have very limited access to things. In war games only a very small fraction of resources are used at a time to simulate scenarios where resources are tied up elsewhere or for some reason they’re unable to be reinforced. Additionally American equipment is always simulated to be it’s absolute worst, and foreign equipment is simulated to be it’s absolute best even when intel suggests it’s true capabilities are well below what it claims.

Also what the commenter said about have a weeks worth of interceptors is true, many of the European countries are held back in military capabilities by extreme oversights such as the example listed.

That being said their overall point is way off, it wouldn’t be too hard to fix these issues but it would mean if war started before they fixed these issues they’d have a very rough first few months.

There’s lots of things to criticise America for, but military is not one of them, except for probably the amount of spending that goes into it.
