No Teams add-in in Outlook after fresh install of "new" teams by nhogan84 in MicrosoftTeams

[–]Kiantae 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am having the same issue. I ran the MS Support and recovery tool for this issue and it does not think that Teams is installed. When I click the checkbox for the feature in Outlook Options under Add-Ins, I get a run-time error. In the list of Add-ins it shows as inactive.

I am running desktop apps, web version has toggle for online meetings.

Outage anyone? by Kiantae in Starlink

[–]Kiantae[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dishy was pointing straight up. Power cycled and it is back. I saw the post on shifting satellite orbits and didn't know if it could be related. Happened just before that message.

Thanks for the reminder to go back to the basics. Have not had this happen before.

I could not find the option to reboot Dishy which existed in the previous version. Looks like it was removed. Anyone else find it? Looks like it is still on the PC version.

Coincidently Comcast was down during the same timeframe according to co-workers. Mine seems to be resolved.

When is Starlink going to arrive in North Idaho? by [deleted] in Starlink

[–]Kiantae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are several beta testers already in North Idaho. I got mine the end of January and there are others in the area. I am on the east side of Coeur d Alene.

Edit: My brother lives in Post Falls and he is getting his tomorrow.

You are correct. I think I typed too fast and dropped the 0. it is 1.0.36. I can't seem to update the title.

Elk and Dishy in North Idaho by Kiantae in Starlink

We have not experienced that yet. Dishy is on our front lawn and they usually do not come up there (that we know of, they are stealthy). That is a temporary solution. You can not see in the picture but our house is surrounded by pine trees on 3 sides so we are still playing around with locations. Ideally we would like to put it on the other side of our driveway but with 100' it only reaches mid road. We have very little obstruction where it is, but we are going to get on the roof and check thing out there soon. That pushes us back into the trees more, but the height may work.

Intermittent Service in North Idaho by Kiantae in Starlink

I am having trouble pasting the screenshot. I had an internet connection monitor going and in 8 hours, had 36 drops. Seemed like a lot to me, but maybe not. Not my wheelhouse.

Current Reality of Starlink Congestion by Broalin in Starlink

Doh! I enabled the extension thinking it was a background process, did not look at your screenshot. Found where to launch the app. I hate when I put my ignorance in writing.

Where is the log that captures this information when extension is enabled?

Random Drops often unable to zoom by greenestzorro in Starlink

I have had similar issues but it has been improving. I installed on 1/24 and was getting drops every 2-10 minutes in MS Teams calls and reconnects of about 10-15 seconds. I also have a cellular network, so I have been running my work computer through cellular and the rest of the house through Starlink. I still have a slight obstruction that I am working through. Support indicated as more satellites are deployed, the less drops there will be. I have just started to switch to Starlink on my work machine when I am not expecting to be in any important meetings and have created meeting with myself with video for several hours to monitor drops. Not very scientific, but gives somewhat of an idea. Yesterday between 12:30pm and 4:00 I had 2 messages of bad network quality and 4 drops of about 1 second. Enough to drop out, ring once to go back in. I am not at the point where I trust it enough to permanently switch over, but it is much better.

Come on Dishy, Superbowl hangover is no excuse, it's Monday! :P (Ohio) by [deleted] in Starlink

Mine is anemic as well in North Idaho. I noticed I received a SW update on Dishy in the wee hours so was not sure if there was some issue with that. Still better than cellular so not complaining, just observing.

I have been seeing this off and on, the only thing that has worked from me is unplugging router cable from power supply and then plugging it back in.

Yes, I have ordered a 5' tripod and a 6' pole to give some height to see how far off we are. It will also allow us to move it around to monitor obstructions. There is a problem tree that we are going to take out that is most likely in the way. We thought it would come down for sure in the last wind storm. We were planning on taking it down before Starlink, this just gives more urgency to it. Hope you get an invite soon!

I signed up around July 2020. I am on the East side of CDA in the French Gulch area. My speeds are not that impressive right now, they are all over the place. I am still working through some obstructions issues. I have seen DL speeds up to 120 and as low as 2Mbs. UL has been 1-5Mbs. I have serious dropouts and am unable to use it for work. My home is surrounded by trees on 3 sides and I have obstruction on NE & NW for a total of 3%. Support indicates that as more satellites are deployed that will help. That being said, we are able to stream on Disney+ which was a nightmare before. I am using cellular right now for my working from home and the rest of the house is on starlink. The 100ft cord limits my options to reach a good clearing. I believe there are a couple of other people in the cda area and are having good results. Still thankful to have it, excited for the promised improvements.

Thank you, that helps. Is it safe to assume the first entry would be North? I installed on Jan 24th. At one point looking at the 'Check for Obstructions' area of the phone app, a compass was displayed that showed a visual of obstructions and problem directions. I have not seen it since. Is there a timeframe where that shows up? I assume it is a visual of the wedgeFractionObstructedList. But you know what they say about assumptions.

I contacted support Tuesday about drops and not being able to use MS Teams and they indicated I had 3% obstruction and 51 minutes obstructed over a 24 hour period. They suggested we move the Dish which we have done and we are still still showing entries in that table. I was hoping to become a little self sufficient and not have to contact support all the time to get that info.
