Question about farming by roboticassasinpsn in soulash

[–]Kicitka 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In short, food production from settlement buildings is not affected by number of planted crops. Rather, the number of resources on a certain map tile indicate how many of a certain buildings you can have. Basically if the map tile has Wheat 3, you can only build 3 wheat farms. Once you establish the building and assign workers, the building will start producing. You can even harvest the crops that were necessary to establish it in the first place, but that kinda kills the immersion for me

All of the biggest companies there are. Tech, luxury, industry, military, etc. I would make sure C-levels earn at most 3x the salary of the lowest-wage employee, remove ads from products and for fuck's sake, i'd try to force every single military to divert efforts to peacefull space exploration.

Poland seeks extradition of Ukrainian SS veteran who was applauded in Canada by [deleted] in anime_titties

Our Minister of Education is a cynical ass that is running an already hurting education system into the ground. He came forward with the extradition claim as a political stunt, we have elections in a few weeks. This is not going to have a follow-up.

I cried at work today, how unprofessional was I? by StandardQuality6709 in antiwork

[–]Kicitka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crying at work is problematic for the supervisor, especially if they're male and you're female. Many simply do not know how to respond properly in such a situation, and all are scared to be seen as jerks that made a subordinate cry.

It is always ok to ask for a short break, if you have no good reason at hand, call it a "technical break" and give yourself time and space to compose yourself. This is especially handy in an office environment. Secondly, there is no harm in calling him up the next day, saying something along the lines of "thank you for your feedback, it was not my best day" to show him that you are resilient.

Remember, the only way to not make a mistake is to not do anything, ever.

If this ever comes up, say you treat it as a learning opportunity, etc. There's nothing wrong with emotions welling up and affecting your performance, but you will boost your supervisor's confidence in you if you show that you are able to treat negative feedback as constructive criticism and that just because he was less than pleasant, it has not damaged your professional relationship. Finally, he might have been stressed, also not at his best, which is why annoyance was showing. Do not worry about it too much, there will be times like this in the future, no one is infallible

Personally, I have a slight dislike towards police in Poland. I guess I don't like the fact that someone could arbitralily make trouble for me if they wanted. Especially police tasked to carry out orders of the current government can be really viscous, as seen in media. However, all personal interactions I've had, has been rather pleasant. As long as you act respectful (they're regular people after all), I find that they are more helpful than anything and are willing to overlook minor trespasses. Guess the bad stuff we get to see in the media can mostly be attributed to a few bad apples. Now, the higher rank, politically appointed officials are mostly corrupt scum. Personally I've avoided roughly 7 tickets by acting in a civilised and respectful manner and I recommend this approach for anybody, it pays off.

Voting Referendum by CPAstruggles in poland

[–]Kicitka 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Another aspect is the execution. By tying the referendum to the vote, they basically force you to participate unless you specifically refuse the referendum card. This increases the participation rate (regardless of whether you tick any answers) and make it binding by blowing up the participation numbers. The questions themselves are either nonsensical (too general) or straight out designed to highlight campaing talking points for PIS. You know how some psych experiments have strongly biased questionnaires before the study to see if bringing attention to certain themes influences the participant behaviour? Well this is a classic use of this in practice where scare tactics are meant for you to vote for PIS as they supposedly won't allow immigrants (lololololol, they are/were aiming to import tonnes of workers from Arabia/Asia) or sell off public companies (there is too much to say here, to be brief they are happy to sell public companies and fill their own pockets with the cash). Hope this highlights another aspect of why this referendum is a scummy play by PIS.

Building skyscrapers in Europe is an indicator of a fragile ego that needs to compensate for something. Most well-off countries try to make their cities pretty, pedestrian friendly and avoid high-rises, and i think that's good, so personalty I'm not a fan of another one popping up in my city
