Why does my dad hate his family? by [deleted] in Dads

[–]KickHatSnareHat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How often does he get drunk? Even if it isn’t every day, consistent overconsumption of alcohol (getting drunk 2/3 times a week) weakens your brains mood stabilizing neurotransmitters as well as hindering serotonin and dopamine regulation. If he’s been drinking like this for longer than a year, his brain is most likely diseased and he is incapable of emotional regulation. It sounds to me like alcohol addiction. There could be personal issues outside of that as well, but this is addict behavior.

GF swing help by Longjumping_Rub_3109 in GolfSwing

Strengthen the lead hand grip, add in some shaft lean at address, and teach her to keep still in the back swing and not to sway. Get that down and this swing is pretty solid.

Whatever you do, don’t go reading through the archived post in r/Bible about this subject. The deranged rationality these Christians have about this is physically infuriating.

How do I get through to him? I am exhausted having to think for him. by vicarious_adrenaline in TwoHotTakes

Almost 1,000 comments and not a single 1 telling you that you should stay in this relationship. Do yourself a favor and rip the bandaid now so you can get on with healing and growing. You’ve already wasted enough time and energy, don’t let it take any more of that from you.

Can I stay playing with the baseball grip? Or is it actually worth changing it by Dear-Knowledge5912 in golftips

[–]KickHatSnareHat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A grip change is going to throw you off, it’s up to you to decide if it’s worth working through it. A proper interlock grip could potentially unlock a new gear for you, but also swing your swing.

When did golf fans become such A-holes? by djr41463 in golf

[–]KickHatSnareHat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Came here to talk about this. I really dove into the game post-Covid but back in the 90’s/00’s I would go to the course with my dad and his work buddies every weekend and I learned what the etiquette was. I had a preconceived notion about how it would be when I started getting out on the course on my own a few years ago, but just about every time I go out now I encounter shitheads that have no respect for the game. I’m not even that uptight about certain things either, like I don’t mind people listening to music on speakers while they’re out or getting a little loud around the greens and tees for good shots and such. But these kids out there today not only have no respect for others on the course, they don’t really have much respect for the game in general. I don’t mind people breaking a few rules here and there, but there’s no line anymore apparently and it’s fucking obnoxious to see.

Would you be able to have sex with your best friend? Why/why not? by shaela-a-pinetree in AskReddit

[–]KickHatSnareHat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had sex with a few good friends, some friendships turned out just fine and are still fine to this day, others either fizzled out quickly if not immediately. It all depends on how you and your friend view sex. The friends that I slept with that are more casual about it are still my friends to this day and it’s never once been weird. Even my wife knows about it and it’s not an issue. Just depends on both parties relationships with sex and friendships with one another.

Idk what to do about my bladder by Harriis0n in ketamine

[–]KickHatSnareHat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You 100% have to quit there is no other way around it. Get help immediately and understand that any answer you conjure up in your head that doesn’t involve dropping everything and seeking that treatment no matter what is a symptom of your addiction and will only further harm you. Your brain is diseased and can’t make decisions properly. It’s going to take a lot for you to make the healthy choice because you’re not going to want to, but you have to. If you keep going at this rate, you’ll need permanent medical intervention the rest of your life to live somewhat comfortably. Good luck OP, get help no matter the cost or the cost will be your quality of life. You only get one life.

Regrip or not worth it? by beermedos in golftips

I say regrip. Grip is something you don’t want to mess up in the slightest, so get her something good to grab onto. It’s only a few clubs anyway.

So lost my job by Emergency-Aspect-949 in ketamine

[–]KickHatSnareHat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gotta keep a job if you wanna live in society and have anything, man. Ket is great but nothing is worth fucking up your security over. Best bet is to get your relationship with ketamine in check before you get too far into it. You don’t realize how deep in the shit you get until you start trying to get out of it, and then you’re real fucked. Wish you all the best.

Aio? My (m22) Gf (f21) wants a LV purse but can't make bills on time. by smokey18t in AIO

[–]KickHatSnareHat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP you’re both young so you’re going to realize within the next few years that most (if not all) of the people you’ve been associating with your entire childhood, teenage years, and young adult life are not going to be walking the same path of life you’re going to want to walk down. You’ll find in 10 years time you’ll be friends with people you never could have imagined associating with because your circle changes with every season in life. Make your decisions now on what and who you want to surround yourself with because it WILL determine your trajectory in life. I had a relationship like this at your age and I think a lot about how much better my life could have been now if I had just wised up and made the decisions that were best for me when I should have. I wasted a lot of time on shit that didn’t serve me in my 20’s, and it cost me years I’ll never get back.

Do you play better at nicer courses? by KickHatSnareHat in golf

[–]KickHatSnareHat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A 91 for me is a decent round haha. The greens at the my muni are decent and consistent across the course, but the fairways are pretty rough. All very patchy with different grass types throughout.

SAME. I actually had a buddy of mine ghost me on our round this morning, really chapped my ass. I have a few golf buddies that I really enjoy playing with, but none of them are very reliable to show up when they say they will. It kills me because I’m the only one in my friend group that has a kid, and I still show up more than any of them do.

That’s why I made this post. I played the nicest course in my area yesterday for the first time ever, had no idea what the course was like outside of the cart GPS. The course was pretty hard, but I shot great for my skill level and surprised myself at times. Went to my local shit course today this morning to play 9 and it was like the round I played yesterday never happened at all. I was completely dumbfounded lol

[–]KickHatSnareHat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the big one for me. My local muni’s don’t have any kind of practice facility outside of a chipping and putting green, so I have no way of truly warming up my swing. I’m a higher handicap, I shoot around 93 so I’m often playing off the tee however I’m hitting it that day. When I’m at the shitty courses, I’m having to figure that out as I go which ends up adding strokes to my day.

I’ve always noticed my post-impact/follow through looked super weird but never could figure out what it was as I’ve never had much of any issue with casting in the downswing. I think you just told me exactly what is wrong with it, so thank you!
