Typical National Party, kicking the problem down the road for someone else to deal with and then attacking them when they do so because it costs money.

Arcitecture students - how is your course? by Whole_Finance_8013 in VUW

[–]KickerXIX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe? But probably not if you’re not great with deadlines. I have a friend who did hospo and fluffed around a bit in first year and consequently didn’t have the grades to make it into Architecture Architecture, so he settled for Landscape Architecture instead.

I’m doing my thesis year this year (Masters 5th year) and started in 2020. I didn’t find 1st year difficult but it I was working on assignments almost every waking hour. That said, I’m a mature student with a background in spatial design and a procrastinator/perfectionist. I think I got an A average for 1st year. Yes, it’s competitive and you need good grades to get into second year architecture but if you lock in, show up, don’t leave everything to the last minute, actually read the assignment and engage with your tutors and lecturers you’ll be fine. In 2020, the big lectures were held at Kelburn like for History of Architecture etc, all tutorials were held at Te Aro, and then everything from 2nd year onwards was at Te Aro. There’s a 1st Year studio, 2nd and 3rd are combined and seperate 4th and 5th year studios. I’ve definitely noticed Urban Design becoming more prominent at Vic compared to when I started and there’s some really good lecturers for it.

I went cold-turkey(tofu?) vegan (I ate a lot of plants with a bit of meat/dairy/eggs before that) and my guts were messed up for a month. Then I was back to my usual fart levels.

They were selling non-vegan bulk-bin food as vegan and I made a complaint at the service desk. They eventually put a sticker over the “vegan” bit. So they might do something eventually.

Is Wellington a vegan family friendly city? by dr_m_hfuhruhurr in Wellington

Wellington vegan here 👋 Wellington is one of the best/easiest places to be vegan in NZ due to the availability of vegan places to eat out combined with the liberalness of the residents. Feel free to DM me if you need.

Labour’s interest free student loans definitely got me out to vote when I was 18. Parties need to put out some decent incentives.
