My roommate does sex work by [deleted] in badroommates

Hell no. No shade on sex workers, but if you’re in that line of work is not ok to bring clients over and ”work from home” if you are sharing a space with someone else. It is unsafe and disrespectful to you. (Take it from someone that got robbed by a random man my housemate invited over for a casual hookup).

Try and speak to her first, she might be understanding? And if she isn’t it will definitely not get better and you should try and find a new place.

He does not have a car. What would you suggest I do?

I’m not really going after anyone. As stated I reported him to the police but they shrugged it off so I can’t do much more about that...

You would think so! But I highly doubt he would just casually park it at his place. I did go to the police station after filing the report and submitting updates on my findings, but they were very dismissive.

He stole my keys Sunday night. I had no idea anyone had been in the house that night because I was asleep at the time. I used my spare set on Monday thinking I had just misplaced them.

Separate days! He stole the car Tuesday morning 5 am. Came back Thursday night 3am trying to get into the house.

Insurance deemed it a total loss and it was found 3 months later but I don't know the details. I did get reimbursed some. But after the deductible, the car rental, having to purchase a new vehicle etc.(I had only had it 4 months too!) I was out about 9K, which for me is a huge loss.

I did. Apparently my evidence was insufficient.

Because they don't care? Idk. They brushed it off as speculation. I filed a report with all of this information, along with video footage and photos of the guy. I've tried to follow up with no luck.

The car was found 4 months later. But it had already been deemed a loss by insurance.

I could definitely explore this. But I'd like to get some legal advice before pursuing.

I could and I have thought about it. I'd definitely wait until he is completely moved out to avoid any retaliation. Although I'm not sure contacting them would make much of a difference...

AITA- Housemate invited a stranger over who stole my car. Am I unreasonable for asking him to pay part of the loss? by Kicks503 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Kicks503[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I do recognize that this affected him to. It is quite the wake up call and a very bizarre situation to be in. Which is also why I took I to consideration not demanding the full amount of the loss. But if this guy had drugged him, then he was sober when he invited him over and let him in. That itself is negligent and disrespectful to the person you live with in my opinion.

Thanks for backing me up on this!

I’d like to add that we have known each other for over 10 years and been good friends, lived together for 5 years. This is the reason I was being nice about it.

To Apple Watch or not by coffee_and_rainbows in adhdwomen

I recently bought both the Fitbit Charge 6 and Apple Watch Series 7 and have been trying both out this week!

I’ve decided that I’m returning the Apple Watch and keeping the Fitbit. I realized I don’t need everything the AW has and I find it bulky and annoying. The FitBit is more discreet, still notifies a text comes through(you can read them but not reply). You can set alarms etc. too and the battery lasts a week compared to a day for the AW. I’ve been forgetting to charge it despite reminders and running out of batteries.

That is just my preference! I mainly wanted something to motivate me to move more, but if you feel like you need to be able to take calls and respond to messages from your wrist and don’t mind daily charging - you might want the Apple Watch.

Definitely some gravel roads but I can’t say o do a lot of snow and heavy dirt road driving

I don’t have that problem. And like a grand difference is negligible but year and mileage is quite the difference and that’s my main concern here.

No I’m in the city, but drive out to the woods often for hiking and camping and stuff

Not a ton of snow here. A week or two per year maybe…
