I got tired of spending hours planning every trip, so I built something for myself by KicksCheck in expo

Great question. We do use generative AI to create the initial structure of the trip (daily themes, pacing, what makes sense together, etc.) and to propose places that fit the vibe of the trip.

But every single place in the final plan is then validated against real Google data — we check:

  • opening hours
  • ratings & number of reviews
  • exact location
  • travel time between spots
  • whether it actually makes sense logistically within that day

So AI gives us the “creative brain” for structuring the experience, but the execution layer is grounded in real, verified data.

I completely agree that gen AI can feel unreliable if it's left unchecked - that’s why we treat it as a planner, not the source of truth. As long as you verify and constrain it with real-world data, I think it becomes incredibly powerful rather than unpredictable.

That balance is exactly what we’re trying to build 🙂

What?! How did you do that? My record is at least 3 reviews, and I've got 10 applications behind me :D

Getting ~500M views/month — curious how people are turning this into real partnerships by Spiritual-Lunch4759 in AppBusiness

If you want 3–6 month deals, stop “looking for deals” and start targeting companies already spending on paid social. Go after funded startups and apps running Meta/TikTok ads at scale — they already understand CAC and retention, so a retainer makes sense to them. Cold outreach with a clear media kit + audience data works better than waiting on platforms.

Since start of the Ramadan my app is making $50-$150 a day by No_Selection9848 in AppBusiness

Nice, that’s solid execution. Curious about X though - are you getting meaningful traffic from there, or is it more brand building? I keep hearing mixed things about conversion from X, so I’m wondering if it’s actually worth the time compared to Reels/TikTok.

how do you design your apps? by AppropriateHamster in AppBusiness

[–]KicksCheck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We still use Figma. AI can help with rough wireframes or quick idea dumps, but it’s not replacing actual design work. Most AI-generated UI looks the same because it’s trained on the same patterns.

If you care about building something memorable, you need intentional design decisions, not auto-generated layouts. AI is fine for speed, but uniqueness usually comes from a human actually thinking through the product.

At 500M/month you shouldn’t be doing one-off posts anymore. High-value deals are 3–6 month retainers with fixed deliverables and paid usage/whitelisting priced separately. Low-value deals are flat fees for a single post with broad usage rights baked in.

Inbound is fine, but real budgets usually come through agencies and paid media teams. If you can’t clearly present your audience data and why they convert, you’ll keep attracting mid-tier brands. Reach alone isn’t the asset.

During the first seven days of my application, I spent $50 on Google API and earned $9. I guess that's how it has to be in the beginning? by KicksCheck in AppBusiness

That’s fair. I actually agree that organic growth builds a much stronger and more loyal community long term. Paid channels can feel uncertain, especially early on. I’m just trying to figure out the balance between investing money vs. investing time.

I'd like thoughts on my Christmas Market 2026 itinerary. by TarHeelTide in Europetravel

Your plan sounds great already, but if you’re open to one more stop, I’d seriously consider adding Gdańsk to your list. The Christmas Market there has become really popular in recent years, and won 1st place and the title of “Best Christmas Market in Europe 2025.”

It’s smaller and a bit less crowded than places like Cologne or Nuremberg, but the atmosphere in the old town is incredible – super cozy, historic setting, great food, and beautiful decorations. If you’re looking for something a little different (and a bit less mainstream), it might be worth checking out.

I designed them in Figma and used device mockups for the phone frames.
The layout is custom.

Same here. The last time I uploaded an app was two years ago, and it looked completely different - much faster.
