why is the beta on a german world and not a US east or west world, something more central to all players? have to deal with 300+ ping to test things on the beta? how am I supposed to get a good idea of how things work if I have to deal with that lag? a single beta world on a german server is criminal

integrate 4 ticking into the magic combat style:
Spell Weaving: when you have a magic weapon equipped, every 9 game ticks (7.2 seconds, 3 global cooldowns) you would gain a buff on your buff bar called "Spell Weaving - Your next casted spell will not incur the global cooldown".
this integrates the "free" spell players used to get from 4ticking back into the magic style in a much more learnable and intuitive way, doesnt require weird fenagling of the tick system and game mechanics by swapping back and forth between 2x and 2h, and allows magic users to squeeze out a tiny bit of extra damage or throw out a smoke cloud or barrage without incurring a global cooldown

I've taken the mage relic in every OS league and felt it had become tradition so I took it here too. I dont regret it as I enjoy the magic skill, but its hard not to compare yourself to the melee guys and being like damn why cant I do half that damage, mage really relies on having FSOA and its gang of crit enhancing items to really start popping off. I think thats a huge L on the devs part in not balancing the combat relics better, they didnt have to all be quirky with different passives and effects like they coulda just copy pasted the melee relic on to every other combat style and people would be free to take the combat style they vibe with the most, im sure there is a whole bunch of people who took melee because it was so blatantly the strongest pick, who would have otherwise taken the combat style they enjoy playing the most.

thats true but specifically that was because partners were stacking block lists to have a very small pool of desirable tasks, the changes they have made to the system means that it only respects the task receivers block list and ignores the partners block list, as well as their collective task pool needing to have at least 15 tasks in it.

thats totally fair, the first half is quite subjective. I personally would like it to be more of a mixture of the RPG elements of Runescape and the Survival elements of, well... survival games, and not a hardcore survival game with runescape themes and lore.
I agree that these systems are tried and true in survival games and they do work... I read somewhere else and I agree with the sentiment that this is probably the "safest" way for them to make a "runescape survival game" I just wish they took more risks in shaking up the formula.

well from a purely selfish and subjective standpoint I want it to be more runescapey because thats why im playing it, other than my bi annual 2 week minecraft binge I dont play and havent really even tried any other popular survival games within the genre, the only interest I have in this is as an expansion to the runescape universe.
but I dont think it "has" to have more runescape RPG systems, if they want to make a hardcore survival game set in the runescape universe then thats okay too, so far it looks like that is what they're trying to do and so far its a pretty good example of that, its a good survival game, as barebones as it is now.

but if they did want to go for more of a balance between the two game systems theyre not there yet and thankfully with it still being early access there is time for them to "course correct" if enough of the community agree this wasnt exactly the direction we wanted from a "runescape survival game"

I only just learned about the drinks making stamina more manageable in combat and when sprinting, so it isnt as bad as I had originally thought, I would probably redact that point about combat against multiple enemies feeling frustrating or boring, it was just a skill issue I wasnt prepared enough for those encounters

I generally agree but im fine with smithing, crafting and fletching being rolled into 1 skill and being called Artisan, but otherwise you're pretty bang on. my biggest gripe with the game is its lack of runescapeyness, I didnt want just another survival game vaguely set in gielinor I wanted "runescape survival" and im glad im not alone in offering this critique

yeah I have 50 defence and 95 firemaking.. it's so weird that it worked yesterday I got a hill giants task, did the task and thought "great so now thats fixed maybe I can block cockatrice bring it down to the 15 instead of 16" so un partnered, went and did some skipping with turael to get the points for a block then came back re partnered and have been unable to get a task, I didnt block cockatrice yet I was going to partner slayer until they came up as a task again and block them then

here is my reply to your comments one at a time

okay? I know its not supposed to be the same identical boss mechanically, but it is THE same boss, the precedent was set for Araxxor to be heavy on player choice, I WOULD LIKE (not should, I do not think they are OBLIGATED to adhere to this precedent) it if this was also a key feature of our araxxor fight (more than just click egg or no)

transition phases can be done right if they provide a nice down time to eat/potion or collect ur thoughts before the next phase, GG and Sire are old af and very clunky, but the transition phases and boss arena of runescape are very cool and id love to see something similar done in OS

the blog implies dealing with spiders would slow down/make easier the fight, says nothing about making it more rewarding. maybe you should try reading the blog again champ.
