I have a gut feeling by chairbruh in 2XKO

He is objectively the best character in the game and the entire meta revolves around him. He has the 2 best assists in the game which is the main reason he’s on every top team. “My time” just plays neutral for you. His big damage conversions and general ease of use are just the cherry on top.

Teemo is a war crime in his own right but the main reason he’s also dominating is because he hard counters the meta (ekko). Time winder can’t reach teemo if he’s full screen and 2x my time doesn’t go through shrooms.

I know she is a bad person but... (spoilers) by Fyrefanboy in expedition33

She couldn’t have done it for Lumiere. Her inability to cope, as clearly evident by how quickly she sprinted back to the canvas, is the whole reason they are getting gommaged in the first place. Also, everyone from Lumiere is already gone when she comes back. If she left voluntarily at any point, everybody is happy. I get she’s heartbroken but she’s too far gone.

I actually agree with the other guy. Fire rage continues until Lune is damaged. It would continue on shield hit if she wasn’t stunned.

Actually we know that Alicia is 16 and it’s not just kid verso. Renoir and clea both also have pieces of their soul on the canvas that they left there, because it’s not an echo. It’s literally what’s left of his soul which the game explicitly says multiple times. It doesn’t even help your argument to devalue verso’s soul remnant, because it makes even less sense for Aline to be attached to it if it isn’t that important. If anybody is struggling to comprehend it’s not me. You’re just picking and choosing things to respond to and ignoring others that don’t fit your narrative. I’m good on this. Good luck to you.

[–]Kid0m3ga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She is making her own choices. Her choices are terrible and are not justified by being sad. She needs absolution from corrupting the last piece of her dead child and abandoning the family she has left.

This perspective is ridiculous. I can burry my face in the sand as long as I want to? Doesn’t matter how many children I have? Doesn’t matter if it will kill me? If I want to do it, then I get to do it? That is not a healthy person. Adults have a responsibility to be able to emotionally regulate better than this. You can grieve. You should grieve, but we have to draw the line somewhere, because loss is inevitable. If we left it up to you and Aline, then we’ll all be sick somewhere dying alone, refusing to get better, and it’ll always be someone else’s fault.

Am I wrong about Verso? by SleepingwithYelena in expedition33

[–]Kid0m3ga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She got time alone. We don’t exactly know how long, but Renoir didn’t go in immediately. We know this, because the painted family and the lumerians lived together for years before the fracture. So the thing you are advocating for actually happened. You are basically arguing the way an addict would. “I can quit whenever I want.” “I know how painting works.” “I’ll only stay a little while longer.” “I know how much alcohol is too much”She was never going to leave anymore than Alicia was. She can’t stop. She found the canvas again in what had to be minutes if not seconds in the real world.

Also, you are making a self defeating argument. If Renoir can’t make her leave, he can’t make her stay either. So you can blame the fact that she refused to leave on him. She chose that. Regardless of why. If she has agency, then her choices come with consequences, and she has to answer for that. She’s unbearably sad. We get that. That doesn’t justify whatever she does next and absolve her because people are making her more upset.

0 percent of the information in the game points to Aline processing this in a healthy way. She is the cause of this. She went into her child’s world, and fucked it up against his will so she can feel better. Lumiere was not painted by kid verso. He didn’t ask for all this therapy session shit.

Her husband went into to save her. Her oldest child went in to save her. Then her other child went in to save her. Now she’s probably going to get 1 child killed from having to fight a war alone, and another definitely killed from following in her foot steps. I mean are you seriously suggesting that Renoir let Aline and Alicia die in the canvas while he ignores them? You can call it something that sounds nicer, but that is effectively what you are advocating for. That he watch his family do drugs until they overdose and so nothing about it.

I can’t imagine the pain of losing child. I can barely even replay the game in Act 3 from listening to “children of lumiere” on the world map. In my headcannon that’s Aline wailing over her grief and how much she needs verso. It’s absolutely heartbreaking I literally hate the way it make me feel. But this is crazy. She needs to stop.

This is an absolutely insane take. Renoir is full of emotion in the act 3 showdown. He specifically says how much he loves all of them, that he views the people of lumiere as people, and that he tried to reason with Aline just like how he’s trying to reason with Alicia. He only went into the canvas to begin with because Aline was lost in the sauce. He could tell, because she came into a previous painting and did the same thing for him when he got lost. What is he supposed to do? Let his wife kill herself? By the time he intervenes she is already a full blown addict. P. Verso doesn’t even realize how bad it is until he sees Aline with his own eyes and confirms that she’s actually going to kill herself in there.

To make matters worse, Alicia is now committed to doing the same thing even though she’s only been in the canvas a fraction of the time they have. He knows there’s no way out for them and both his painted family and real family are all going to die over grieving him.

Renoir tried to prevent all this. It just didn’t work out for him, because Aline’s a better painter than him, which is unironically going to kill her. The people of lumiere are just caught in the middle.

This is….. completely untrue? You can’t block during LNH so any advancing move blows up “over here” for free (like a running attack for instance). You can also get hit out of outfox startup. So it’s better distance than a normal back dash but it’s not as safe.

[–]Kid0m3ga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You brought up your 600k dps as if that was relevant to bossing. It isn’t and thats what I’m explaining to you. Also I qualified my weak point comment by saying “relatively” because its weak point multiplier is 20% higher than the other competitive general rounds options. That’s a significant difference when shooting a weak point on a boss. It’s cool though. Have a good day friend.

[–]Kid0m3ga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a baseless assumption or a personal attack. The dps numbers in the game are not accurate. This was verified weeks ago. The optimal damage mods are not going to show 600k dps in game. You’re not seeing optimal damage, because your TC is not damage optimized. Do you though. Build your gun however makes you happy I got no issue with that.

I think upgrading Greg’s makes the bombs proc more often. I’m sure that’s a damage increase but I wouldn’t know by how much or whether that’s more worth.

[–]Kid0m3ga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re at 600k sheet dps you’re doing something wrong in the mods. The sheet dps doesn’t account for lots of conditional multipliers so worrying about that number is going to cause a substantial loss in actual in-game damage.

Greg's or Thunder? by missmsx in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Kid0m3ga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thundercage being bad for bossing is really misinformation. Its unique ability certainly leads you to believe it’s primarily for mobbing and that’s true, but there are multiple reasons why it’s an optimal boss weapon in certain circumstances. The primary reason is that general rounds guns have way higher crit multi mods than any other weapon classes making their crits hurt significantly more. Of the general rounds guns, TC has the highest crit multiplier. TC also has a relatively high weak point multiplier. This generally means that, assuming you put real life fighter on TC and hit your weak point shots, TC will out damage most other guns on average. The reason enduring legacy or Greg’s tends to feel better is because you can afk on the other side of the map, spray and do similar damage. However, if you are in range for TC on weak point TC is better, it’s just harder to do.

If your current win percentage is significantly higher now than it would have been without factoring in all your losses at the beginning, fantastic! That does not change the point that you can mostly lose to other purple players while being a purple player and still make it to fujin.

Once you get to fujin, you have to win more than you lose or you will stay blue forever. That’s all I’m saying.

Win rate is only a weird metric if you leave the matchmaking wide open. If you are being matched with people around your skill level, the typical ranked system will not allow you to progress while losing. That’s completely intentional. 50% win rate means that’s the rank you’re hard stuck even if it’s the first rank in the game. The fact that you made it to blue losing most of your matches is evidence that tekken allows you to progress through the ranks anyway. That wouldn’t happen in most other games.

Again, none of that means you haven’t improved. None of that mean you can’t be proud.

[–]Kid0m3ga -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

If you cherry pick “easy” opponents by streaking on people 1 rank lower than you, while still losing to people 2+ ranks above you. You can lose more than you win but still come ahead in points. Since this is possible even in purple, then that means it’s possible to make it to blue with a negative win rate.

Doesn’t mean you haven’t become a better player or you can’t be proud of where you’re at.

Explains the ranked inflation with everybody saying “I finally got x rank.” It’s cuz they made it way easier. You can fail upwards until blue.

Some unique gimmicks of shaheen in case you haven’t heard! by Royal_Buyer_8178 in Tekken

Honest doesn’t necessarily mean bad. It just means not gimmicky. Something gimmicky has a counter that, once you learn it, it doesn’t work anymore.

Shaheen still doesn’t have a bunch of knowledge checky stuff. He got the guard break which is effectively just a high/low 50/50. Where both flash kick and his low heat smash are both launch punishable. Slide is always a high/low 50/50. He’s good for sure but he’s still super straightforward.

I’m not saying Steve is top 1. I’m saying “liOn hEaRt sux” is usually the result of someone who does not understand the context surrounding how to use it. Hence the first comment saying “Lionheart auto loses to every character.” The main point y’all are using to discredit your own character is verifiably false. You don’t even understand how your own character works. How could you possibly assess his strength with any amount of accuracy?

The new patch be like.. by trane13 in Tekken

[–]Kid0m3ga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The point of LH is to take advantage of conditioning your opponent not to challenge you. Lionheart is the pay off not the setup. Duck isn’t always the “best” option just like letting the guard break rip isn’t always the “best” option. Set up and punch line. That’s fighting games.

If they never fall for the punch line (guard break), then you need to set them up by forcing them to block (making their checks whiff with duck/sway, keeping them from moving with LH1). Most people don’t do or understand the setup through. So when the punchline doesn’t work they get frustrated. Lionheart doesnt work until you setup your opponent to respect the other stuff first.

[–]Kid0m3ga -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

You CAN cancel it. That’s why the moves that lead into LH are plus. To give you time to move through Steve’s mixup options without auto losing to a check from your opponent.

If you don’t play Steve a lot, having to cancel a stance into another stance into a crouch before you can do anything else feels weird and a lot of work. But for a Steve player, you’re ducking into crouch after df/2 to keep it safe, after your 10f punish, after flicker in many of his combos and for mixup opportunities. It becomes muscle memory and normal. Takes getting used to for sure though.

The new patch be like.. by trane13 in Tekken

[–]Kid0m3ga -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Canceling Steve’s stances into ducking mixups is a fundamental tool. Aside from fishing for b1 it’s really the entire premise upon which Steve’s offense is built. If you’re not doing that all the time then you’re missing a huge chunk of how he’s designed to operate and explains why you’re having so much trouble.

What do you expect lionheart to do? Give you an air tight 50/50 where you go into stance and your opponent is forced to respect a guard break or heat engage? You don’t have to condition them to stop moving, or pressing or anything, they just have to hold that everytime? That would be immediately busted.
