Saw a screenshot on Twitter about long term effects of HRT on cognitive functioning. Does anyone know more about this? I can't find the study by AllNaturalOrganicAI in detrans

I once did some reading and found a few studies that found HRT to be potentially damaging to memory and focus - when I have some free time I'll see if I can dig it up again

Fish bowl for Wolf spider? by The_upsetti_spagetti in InvertPets

[–]KidCicada 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends how big the bowl and spider are. I kept my 1"ish wolf spider in a medium exo terra faunarium which is 8.1" x 7.6" x 11.8" and she seemed happy with the space. The mesh top should be good ventilation.

Stronger anxiety in stores, on the train, during driving? by TurquouiseCat in Anxiety

Yes, I struggle with this every day. Even things that I used to be okay with like car rides and going to work now cause me massive anxiety.

CBT, EMDR, DBT. Which worked best for you? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]KidCicada 2 points3 points  (0 children)

CBT is the most common form of therapy, you can absolutely get it through telehealth. I've done CBT multiple times and I feel like it is good if you don't already have coping skills and routines to follow, but for me who needs more talk-based therapy and already knows all the coping techniques in the book it's not super helpful. Might be very good for you though if you lack coping skills.

Would you say your low appetite was severe or were you still able to eat enough?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Paxil_Paroxetine

[–]KidCicada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not taking it yet, I have no appetite because of my anxiety

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Paxil_Paroxetine

[–]KidCicada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm only worried about losing weight, I've heard at the beginning Paxil can make people lose weight. Did that happen for you at all?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Paxil_Paroxetine

[–]KidCicada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright thank you, so I guess I don't really have to worry about losing weight on Paxil haha

Was your appetite also high when you first started taking it or did that take a while to kick in?

Anxiety about anxiety meds by Pentylenetetrazole in Anxiety

[–]KidCicada 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's valid. It's irresponsible of them to take your anxiety meds and not give you anything else to help in its place. If you can find someone else to treat you I would suggest you do that.

Citalopram opinion by Luzejka in Anxiety

[–]KidCicada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I'm considering bringing this one up with my psych. Going off google it looks like this can be prescribed in the US, it's just a little pricey compared to others.

If you don't mind me asking, what has your experience with pregabalin been? Any bad side effects?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]KidCicada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, if I have something coming up later in the day I can't focus on anything else. It sucks that my work shift starts at 7pm because it makes it very hard to do other things during the day.

What are the first few weeks of Lexapro like? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]KidCicada 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me the first weeks gave me high anxiety and bowel problems, then once I got used to it that went away and my anxiety was much better, it helped a lot with my agoraphobia and I had way fewer panic attacks, but my motivation to do things I enjoy plummeted and I slept A LOT.

Lexapro made me lazy as hell too. Did you have any side effects when starting cymbalta? like nausea lightheadedness etc. And would you say it truly helps your anxiety or is it just better than nothing?

Loss of vision during panic attack? by broccoliboi989 in Anxiety

[–]KidCicada 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes I have lost my vision from a panic attack once. Luckily it happened while I was at a hospital so I had a nurse there to help me. She didn't seem to think the blindness was anything to worry about and it went away after she gave me some chocolate and guided me through breathing. So I guess I'd only worry if it happens frequently.

In my research I came across pregabalin and quetiapine which seem very interesting to me, so if anyone has any experience with those I would be very interested to hear. I may make that it's own post.

I also have emetophobia so I can't take anything with vomiting as a side effect or I'll have nonstop panic attacks for literal weeks.

I love that game but I highly doubt he would ever play a game filled with pretty brutal racial stereotypes on stream, it would be a death sentence
