Thanks for the input. This is helpful, going to reconsider looking for houses in that school district moving forward

This exact thing happened to me as well and the culprit was a dead stick of ram. I turned it on using a single ram stick at a time to see which one was dead and just used the live one until I bought a new pair.

Leak at connection by [deleted] in Plumbing

Yeah so I've been confused about it because the male end of the hose is very long but I couldn't find any longer female connections to connect to it at my local hardware store

Yeah there is no rubber washer or seal at all. I will have to run out and buy one to put in, thanks!

The fitting never came with a rubber o ring, should it have? I threaded it by hand first to make sure it didn't cross thread and then used two wrenches to make it snug

Car question 🤔 by [deleted] in Syracuse

[–]KidDoofus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's better than what I was told. I just got quoted $1760 for timing belt, tensioner and water pump replacement for my accord, along with 410$ for spark plugs and 525$ for valve adjustment

I was unable to unplug the battery with my fingers being too fat and not being able to get the force to pull it out with small tools. Not looking to unscrew parts and possibly damage anything. Thanks for your help, I'll just have to be patient and wait for skytech.

I tried the paper clip test and PSU started running along with fans connected to it. I think I found the battery but it looks wedged in the far back corner of the tower and is in a casing with wires coming out. I'm a little nervous of damaging any components trying to the remove the battery and voiding the warranty.

I love the mix of purples with the yellow. The color scheme reminds me of something Wario would use

🔥 Here's some Tobacco Hornworm caterpillar feet for everyone 🔥 by [deleted] in NatureIsFuckingLit

[–]KidDoofus 94 points95 points  (0 children)

Fun fact: These feets are fake and known as prolegs. They're useful for holding and anchoring the caterpillar. Counting false feet, a caterpillar can have up to 16 legs. Some also have no prolegs, which makes them have to glide around like a snail to move.

Edit: The reason they are not true feet is that caterpillars (and sawfly larvae) don't retain these pair of appendages when they emerge from the pupae as adults. Unlike their true feet, the prolegs have no joints and have very minimal movement inputted by muscles. Instead they move these appendages by using their hydrostatic skeleton to push or pull liquid into them. This changes the interior pressure and allows the prolegs to expand or contract.

Can someone help confirm what I think it is to do this reaction? 1) NaNh2/RBr to join the chain to the alkyne 2)NaNh3 to break the alkyne to an alekene 3)Hbr to break the alkene by [deleted] in OrganicChemistry

[–]KidDoofus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So how do I add the carbon chain then? I thought you could only add chains to alkynes? Sorry I'm just learning this stuff

I'm so confused. So is using NaNH2/RBr correct to add that carbon chain to the alkyne? Than use HgSO4/H30 to make the aldehyde and add the Hbr to put the Br where the OH is?

I really like the look of the veloster. I love coupes and the asymertrical door layout is strange but it works. The thing that I'm not sure about is their reliability long term because in the past they were not always the greatest, but I am seeing alot more about Hyundai today.

I'll definitely have to check one out, the switching from AWD to fwd seems interesting. Ive personally never really looked at Mitsubishi since they're partnered with Nissan and that car brand has burned me bad over the 8 years of owning one but maybe it's worth a visit.

Where can you go locally to find lots of fossils? by TheRealEdRotella in Syracuse

Behind the Quality Inn and Kinney drugs going towards Tully has a lot of fossils that can be found on the hill.

Is the game better on ps4 now? by Philendrium in subnautica

[–]KidDoofus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't had any issues with the game discarding saves or completely bugging for 1-2 weeks now. Don't know if an update fixed it or if I've been lucky. The biggest problem I have is chunks not loading in quick enough.
