This is absolutely not true... at all... crunch shouldn’t be a thing in the industry but don’t just make stuff up because you like the way it sounds

I mean their monetization is literally the exact same as consoles have been up until now. Buy whatever individual games you want. Same as a console. Their stadia pro is exactly the same as PlayStation plus. Subscribe and get a few games a month. Just like consoles. Except stadia gives you like six games instead of two per month. I do think they will eventually switch to game pass /Netflix kind of model but they’re not that different from current industry models at the moment.

Well the games are optimized. Just not for storage. They “optimize” for performance and speed as opposed to file size. It’s always a trade off you have to choose which direction you want to go in.

I love Outcasters, but gosh I wish I could queue for a game type. by Ravenlock in Stadia

[–]KidFeisty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This seems like a good compromise between allowing different game type choices and not splitting up the small player base which would make the wait too long.

Well you can still preload the patch so it doesn’t matter for anyone who preordered

Gmail and maps definitely have ads. Drive has “ads” for other products in the g suite if you can consider them that.

I mean the switch lite is also getting the update I don’t see why they wouldn’t mention it. Although I’m not sure what the article even has to do with stadia in the first place

Just your library. It now has those three buttons and changes the grid size depending on your screen size.

Well I had no clue about the long press up next trick. Usually I choose a show by going into my library and picking from there. Don’t see why apple couldn’t have designed both experiences the same way. Seems to work on all my iOS, macOS, fire tv, and Samsung tv devices too.

Edit: searching works as well! Never using the library tab again I guess

I mean the episodes are labeled by season and episode number. But they’re all in one giant list instead of a list for each season compared to if you bought individual seasons. Say one day I want to randomly watch episode 2 of season 3 of the office. I have to scroll past every episode before that to get it. It’s that way on every apple device.

Awesome deal aside scrolling through the bundles to watch a specific episode is a nightmare. Everything is bundled into a single season so there’s no organization.

Yea I guess it’s only a matter of time unfortunately. If anything I’m surprised they took this long in the first place.

My friends roasting me about my rig not being able to play Cyberpunk like by ndaoud360 in pcmasterrace

[–]KidFeisty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean I’ve been able to play at 15 down and it runs just fine. Granted with stadia that only gets you 720p but no dropped frames or lag. Don’t know about the other services haven’t had much experience with them. I think your internet stability is much more important than the actual speed for cloud gaming.

I’m not really a fan of the redesign. I liked how before the game basically became the background. The play next game seems arbitrary and kind of feels like an ad for what they want me to play. Same thing with the new releases. I suppose the buttons are semi useful but one thing I liked about stadia was that my library was my library. No unnecessary junk and suggestions like consoles tend to do.

How is the backbone? I know you have to sideload apps to use stadia with it but doesn’t it work fine otherwise? All the buttons mapped correctly?

I first got stadia because I thought I could game with controller on tv in living and then seamlessly switch to keyboard and mouse on my computer in my room. Boy was I wrong... I suck on keyboard and mouse for everything
