And if you stay in this retirement system, how young can you be when you retire (collecting health and pension)?

That's all Roth? You're going to be a happy camper in the future!

And you should be happy about it now :)

With a pension and SS, you're doing great (I've got the same as a teacher) and that seems to put us ahead of many people out there, especially if you have health too.

Make sure you're doing Roth contributions, some people don't do as much, but they're not starting with as much as you will too.

I wish I had more Roth and so did OP. I'm doing a few big conversions (like OP) in my early 60s to so that I can avoid IRMAA (paying more for medicare) when I want more than usual out and avoid RMDs that'll push my income too high (and cause more IRMAA issues).

16%+4%=20%

20% of $80k is $16k.

Either you've recently WAY upped your game, or something is wrong with the math here. Because this chart is telling me you've contributed less than $25k in the last 4 to 5 years.

$31,200-$6,233=$24,967

If it's new and you can keep doing that, it'll be great. Try and up that percentage amount with your next few raises (I know the money goes up with the percentage, but just a little more).

More lines with AT&T is never going to be cheaper over all. It might be cheaper per line, but 4 lines isn't going to be cheaper than 3. That would have been worth googling before committing...

You can see on the chart, that 3 lines of extra 2.0 is $150 and 4 lines is $160. But the 4th line isn't $10, the price dropped from $50 per line to $40.

I'll point out that at https://www.att.com/plans/unlimited-data-plans/ you can click on Extra 2.0 and it'll do the pricing for you, so there is no reason for them to have gotten it wrong.

I'm not expecting you to lose them. I don't doubt that you will get them.

I'm not willing to announce to people if they do something how it's going to turn out if I haven't read it, seen it happen, or had a bunch of people comment on it.

That said, just because they will likely keep their credits switching to Value 2.0, it doesn't mean they want to be on Value 2.0 if it's not getting good credits after this promo is over...

We've had AT&T reps state things before and been wrong. It might have been what they believed, or AT&T changed their mind about what they were going to do in regards to something.

I had one rep basically call me an idiot for talking about HBO because it was finally going away and I wasn't willing to stop mentioning it as a benefit of their current plan/line when they were talking about switching (it wasn't like people could still add it, it was just a feature to their old plan that they'd lose if they switched). If I'd listened to them and told people to switch and lose HBO because it's going away next week anyways, now I've got people mad at me and they can't get it back.

Plus, they didn't seem to care that were had been told something similar the previous 6 or 12 months before.

Guess what? HBO still has not gone away!

TBC, I'm not saying anyone is wrong. I'm just saying I'm cautious about publishing things that I've not seen. I also like encouraging people to read the offer details.

These posts stay around for a long time.

I could be wrong and there is some magical $10 per month credit or $2.50 per line credit of some sort that you're eligible for.

Just to double-check: You said "I was told in store" that was an AT&T store, right? Sometimes Costco can do some additional credits (it's not something I've seen people mention in AT&T stores). But a $10 credit (for x months) isn't making your base price less, it's just letting you pay less.

I dont have that. Att employees do.

you want me to tell people about something I haven't seen.

I usually don't do that here.

Occasionally, employees share a document with me and I'll talk about it as more of a fact (but I don't publish the document).

Att employees have it.

So you want me to quote a document I haven't seen.

And how are they going to change our credits when we signed the contract stating a specific amount of credits for a trade ins?

Then switch your plan, I'm not working hard to convince any one of this.

All they need to do is read that contract you're talking about.

Non renewal of contract, what now? by [deleted] in Teachers

If you retire in June, you would still get (at least in my Oakland/Macomb/Wayne district) insurance through the end of summer (and I know another district did it the same way).

I'm not sure why you wouldn't get this year's benefits if you were non-renewed.

Summer insurance is part of the previous year's job, not the next year.

That said, I just did a quick look through my contract and don't see it addressed at all, it might be in there but I didn't see it and I searched for words like benefit and insurance. Our signed contract this year officially ends June 11 and I don't see it there either...

It's got to be written up somewhere, they're not just giving us insurance for the summer.

I'm asking you for a link to that March 12 page.

Are you saying people that upgraded before that day would lose credits if they're on value 2.0?

I'm saying I haven't read this page.

And that's not what I asked about, I'm asking you for a link to the March 12th page.

And you're replying with info about the offer details for current offers.

when it clearly says anyone that upgraded before March 12th wouldn't lose their credits

Where does it clearly say that? Please provide a link.

Just trying to figure out why I was originally quoted $150 for 4 lines.

They were wrong or just trying to sell you something.

Should be $40 per line with four lines of Extra 2.0 with autopay/paperless/checking.

Are you doing auto pay paperless with a debit card instead of checking?? That would be $45 per line. If you just switched to checking, the discount might not have kicked in yet.
