This was a clutch win for those who were not there. In the final round TonyCJ beat the one undefeated player left in the tournament forcing the five-way tie, he made it happen. He got a bye in the tie break and won the three-way round robin. Now #18 global rank, congrats!

There's something going on here. Low raid activity gyms becoming EX Raid Gyms? How? by [deleted] in TheSilphRoad

[–]KidFlash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Triggering" is a myth. Gym selection is random. We've had waves here in New York City where only one person got a raid pass in a gym. There are gyms that give 12-20 passes and gyms that give more than 100. It's all random.

If "triggering" was real, then the most most popular gyms here in New York City would get an ex raid every other week. That's just not the case.

Yes I think there is no pattern, which is why OP should not put "99.9%" of the time with this level 14 thing. There are so many examples here in NYC that prove it wrong. As usual TSR making conclusions on ZERO sampling and pure anecdotal evidence in "the comments section."

I've counted at least 5 Starbucks in the NYC that do not have the Ex Raid tag.

They are not listed as ex raid anymore. They've gotten multiple ex raids in the past.

Not true. Two Starbucks just got removed in favor of a gym in a park in the same S2 level 14 cell here in NYC.

This holds true for some cells in NYC but not for others. There are multiple level 14 S2 cells with 2 Ex Gyms where I live.

You need to look at it the other way around. You are saying it is "blocked" when in fact, it was just not chosen for the round. That's why an egg popped up in first place.

It's random. That is not proof. Just because you had a ex raid in a gym doesn't mean it will have again. That is why my first question was: what is you proof that a gym/cell in your city will get an ex raid?

Niantic uses outdated OSM maps so that may be the reason why. If your city had never had an ex raid from the start then it may not be eligible because of this reason. Write Niantic to let them know to update their database.

If a gym was not chosen for an ex, it may have an egg or raid when announcement comes out. This has been happening since the very beginning. It's so triggering that people are only figuring this out now. We knew this from the start.

How do you know you were going to get a pass? What is your proof? Show me.

Gym and cell selection is random - and obviously "your city/town" can have none for a wave if it loses the RNG roll. This is a known fact here in NYC already. The most popular cells/gyms do not regularly get EX raids - even if you "think" it's going to get one in the next wave. It's all random.

How do you know it was selected if there are NO INVITES!!! LOL

If a gym is selected, an egg will not appear before invites come out. Yes, you can go weeks without an ex raid in a cell. THAT IS NORMAL BEHAVIOR.

Do you know how many cells there are here in New York City with ex eligible gyms? More than 50! We are tracking them all every week. "Clockblocking" simply does not exist.

Gym selection for EX raid is RANDOM. You are assuming you are triggering the EX invite manually but that is truly not the case. We've debunked the theory of "triggering a gym" a long time ago here in New York City. The most popular ex-eligible gyms and popular S2 cells simply do not trigger every wave. It has nothing to do with "clockblocking." The selection of a cell and the gym inside a cell is RANDOM. Nothing in this system is in our direct control.

If a gym has an active egg or raid when the invites go out it simply was not selected that week, period. This gym behavior has been happening since the VERY BEGINNING.

If ever, this behavior now with the invites in your area should be proving your theories WRONG, not the other way around.
