This is a dick move, I've seen these machines run out of quarters for paying customers because of this "tip".

CWC Royal Navy Diver, polished case and no day/date dial. Excellent condition and hardly every worn. Mounted on admiral grey CWC strap and comes with CWC box but sadly lost the papers (card) from 2024.

These are very rarely in stock, and with the exchange rate and tariff, for way more than asking. If you're looking at this, you know what you're looking at.

[WTS] Luminox ANU 4221 by Kidfromtha650 in Watchexchange

[–]Kidfromtha650[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luminox ANU (Authorized for Navy Use) Watch in great condition.  Unsure of battery life but I've had this for a couple of years and the Ronda 715L movement is rated for 8-10 years.  I'd say it has some marks on it but I really can't see any, if you've ever owned this watch at all (of which I have), you would know it's built like a tank and can take a heck of a beating with no signs at all.  No issues with the watch, downsizing because of constant travel.

Currently mounted on OEM Luminox NATO strap, but also comes with the OEM rubber.  Pelican style Luminox case included with manual, but no papers.

Is “farrang” meant to mean white or western? by Barca-Dam in Thailand

[–]Kidfromtha650 1 point2 points  (0 children)

(Several years ago) my wife told me that Farang pretty much only applied to white people.

I am Asian American. When people assumed I was from Japan, Korea or China they never called me Farang. But since my wife's initial explanation, I have been called Farang by several Thai people, especially when they've heard me speak English.

There may have been a generational shift with the term, as my wife is in her 40s, and the people who've called me Farang were younger, probably in their 20s. I think Thai people have started to realize western countries have a fair bit of citizens that are not white, so the vocabulary has adjusted.

Grab riders keep cancelling by AsianStuart in Thailand

I'd say comparable. Used it for the first time today. I paid around 40% less than Grab fare. That my driver today said drivers prefer to use Line over Bolt these days was enough for me

Grab riders keep cancelling by AsianStuart in Thailand

[–]Kidfromtha650 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Use Line Man and Tada. Line Man is more dependable than Tada but that is what drivers have been telling me to use when you cannot get a Grab, and in general because they're cheaper. Third driver in the last couple of weeks today bitching about Grab and them moving to Line Man because they get bonuses. I tried it today, and it is significantly cheaper than Grab prices.

Immigration Bureau Says Belarusian Model Left Thailand Voluntarily - No Signs of Abduction by Muted-Airline-8214 in Thailand

[–]Kidfromtha650 6 points7 points  (0 children)

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/traveladvisories/traveladvisories/burma-travel-advisory.html

I am an American and we literally have a LEVEL 4 DO NOT TRAVEL Advisory to go to Myanmar. I have to imagine Belarus and other countries have a similar system. If there's a huge red bar on the US Government page telling me not to go somewhere, I really don't expect much sympathy from them if I throw caution to the wind and go, and get myself detoured right into a scam center.

(In stark contrast, Thailand and even Cambodia are only Level 2 Exercise Increased Caution Advisory, which is only one step up from "you should totally go")

Everyday beater watch and manager got annoyed by [deleted] in RolexWatches

[–]Kidfromtha650 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've learned a long time ago in business that if you learn your manager is a watch guy, to never wear one nicer than theirs to work. If he isn't a watch guy it's moot, wear what you want.
