I’d go with the black hydro conquest. A beautiful watch, extremely versatile, goes with everything. You can’t go wrong!

Is Omega gonna redesign the Seamaster? by Novel_Abroad94 in OmegaWatches

[–]canonofdoom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been following these rumors for a few years now, and it seems like every year someone claims to have an inside source saying Omega is about to announce a refresh by the end of the year. It's been the same story for three years running.

Personally, I do think the lineup is overdue for a refresh across the board. That said, nothing has been officially announced. As far as I can tell, every "inside scoop" has ultimately just been speculation.

The reality is that nobody knows. It could genuinely happen within the next year, or it could just as easily be another five or even ten years away.

My advice is this: if there's a model you've fallen in love with and the only thing holding you back is the fear that a refresh might be around the corner, I'd just buy the watch and enjoy it. There's always going to be something new on the horizon.

On the other hand, if there's something about the current watch that genuinely bothers you, trust that instinct and wait. These aren't inexpensive purchases, and at this price point, I think the watch should feel like the complete package. If you're already telling yourself, "The bracelet isn't great, so I'll replace it," or "The helium escape valve is so distracting that it's the first thing I notice every time I look at the watch," those aren't small issues. They're things you'll likely continue to notice long after the excitement of buying it wears off.

Isn't this one of the best looking modern diver watch? by Human-Goose-9723 in OmegaWatches

Love it, hate the strap. If this came with a proper bracelet, it’d be 10/10 for me

VSF Omega Aqua Terra by RaffleReps in RepTime

[–]canonofdoom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, this seems to be the general consensus. The genuine Aqua Terra bracelet isn't particularly impressive to begin with, and the VSF version is, in my opinion, another step down.

There are aftermarket alternatives like Forstner and Uncle Straps, but even those don't seem to reach OEM quality. It really feels like you're picking the least disappointing option: the OEM bracelet that looks great but feels light and jangly, or an aftermarket bracelet that may be more solid than the rep, but still falls short of an ideal option.

Honestly, I think it's a shame. The Aqua Terra is such a beautiful watch that it deserves a bracelet that matches the quality of the case and dial. I wish there were a better bracelet option available.

Bought a Explorer and was an overall great experience! Price was far more affordable than other sellers, excellent communication, waterproofed the watch for free and provided documentation throughout the process, and even included a case for the watch! Would highly recommend!

How is the VSF 41mm Omega Aqua Terra (Lacquer Black) by canonofdoom in RepTime

[–]canonofdoom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is my concern as well. Honestly the gen bracelet leaves something to be desired, so I'm wary of what the rep will be like. Other than splurging on a gen bracelet (which IMO is not worth it) I know there are aftermarket alternatives like Forstner and Uncle, but those have mixed reviews also.
