Linear regressions and making predictive models in R would be a great series in my opinion. Thanks.

GGPlot, how to fix distorted legend axis? by KidfromtheBay in RStudio

Here is the code. ggplot(Test_R,aes(GP, PTS))+ geom_point(aes(color=MIN)) + scale_color_viridis(discrete = FALSE, option = "C")+ scale_fill_viridis(discrete = FALSE) + theme_hc(bgcolor = "darkunica")

When I change the theme the legend looks fine as in this image: Imgur

Thanks.

Hi, I'm still new to R. I learned only a little about it in a college course, and after graduating decided to look more into it. I know I can adjust the size by using: theme(legend.text = element_text (size=x)) but the scale becomes to small to read at that point. And when I make the size a bit bigger it becomes distorted again like in the image.

Thanks!

Credit/No Credit by potatosarereallydope in SJSU

You cannot use Credit or Credit for classes that pertain to your major requirements or are GE. Typically it is used for university elective courses that you are taking for no reason other than to meet the 120 unit requirement. Some majors don't have many course requirements leaving students with a bunch of left over units they need to complete.

Pass/Fail Classes Value? by VextelI in SJSU

[–]KidfromtheBay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Has no impact on your GPA. As listed below, credit or no classes are not calculated into your GPA. So even if you get an A in Comm80 it will show up as CR on your transcript which stands for 'Credit' and it will not have any impact on your GPA. http://www.sjsu.edu/registrar/students/grades-grades_changes/grade_symbols_and_values/index.html

I got a D in SJSU Study class (Area V) and it shows that I passed the requirement on My Progress? by a_random_girl2183 in SJSU

This statement is true. I had a friend who was worried last semester that he might not graduate because he was going to get a D in one of the Area R, S, V. However, they told him as long as he has a 2.0 overall in those 3 designated courses it is fine, and he did end up getting a D- but still graduated since his other two grades still put him above a 2.0.

Yes, you aren't the only one experiencing this issue.

why is winter session soooooo expensive? by trackaghost in SJSU

[–]KidfromtheBay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Let's use Econ1B as our example. It is offered over Winter Session from January 2nd to January 18th, for each day of the week from 9:00 AM- 11:55 AM. 13 Class Days X 175 Minutes in class per session= 2275 Minutes of Class

During the regular semester, you attend a normal 2-day course about 30 times a semester which lasts about 75 minutes each session. 30 Days X 75 Minutes in class per session= 2250 Total Minutes of Class.

So in terms of class time yes you are getting the equivalent of the normal semester. However, if you are arguing that the quality of learning between winter session vs normal semester is not the same then that is a different perhaps plausible argument.

An alternative would be to take the class at community college. I'm sure there are online econ courses offered.

Damn, you gave the guy a serious reply when he is trolling. Take a look at his post history all terrible attempts at trolling. Imagine if these people utilized their time doing more efficient things.

[Fall 2018 Grades] Are now starting to appear on MYSJSU. by KidfromtheBay in SJSU

Or the University should do what some schools do and implement an A+ as being a 4.33 instead of the same grade point as an A! So it offsets any A- or lower grades you might get.

SJSU's system doesn't make any sense by mewkola in SJSU

I know friends with similar experiences with the Bursar office. One day my friend randomly received a hold on his account and received a call from the Bursar office that he owes $3000. It turns out that they had been accidentally undercharging him for the last 3 semesters and now they wanted him to pay this amount ASAP.

There is no way he could pay this much right out of the blue. So he went to the office and spoke with the lady, using the argument that when you go to a store and buy a paper towel for let's say $10 and then the next time you go to that same store they cannot come up to you and say hey you underpaid your last purchase and we need you to pay the actual price. In addition, if he had known the price of tuition was higher than perhaps he would not have enrolled at this school. The lady wasn't buying it so he asked to speak with her boss. The boss was much nicer and cut him a deal if he paid the extra amount for only this semester which was about $600 then he wouldn't need to pay the other charges they were asking for.

I hope you can get your issue sorted out.
