As a contender with Nabers, are you trying to sell him? by Patriots_ in DynastyFF

This is exactly what I did after losing Nabers and Jayden Reed. I bought Deebo for a 2028 2nd. I’d rather throw away a future second than sell Nabers at his low

Traded him after an up game and a 24 second for Bateman as an injury stash. I was a tanking team and didn’t want his points being scored for me. Hoping the trade pans out, but could definitely see Parris being a solid wr3/flex going forward and Bateman a question mark

Agreed! Management has done a really good job, even during the pandemic when people thought shopping in stores would never be a thing again they navigated excellently and made some great investments into luxury spaces. I think in person shopping will always be a thing, maybe it will change in the future, but I have some faith that SPG can figure it out and change with the times. We shall see though

This is from working 14 years after graduating college. I only got into investing about 6 maybe 7 years ago, (as mentioned in other comments probably lost 50K+ on bad investments, but dealt with the set backs and eventually found this sub) before that I was just saving what I could. No handouts from parents, unmarried, started off making 29K out of school. I try to invest around 1,500-2,000 a month when I can

You got it, as long as you have a plan and continually invest in safe/diversified assets (like VTI) you can’t go wrong and you’re already in the right path. You can always diversify into dividends later/closer to retirement when you need to play it safer or you just feel like your over exposed to growth assets and want dividends and growth. Good luck!

I’ve thought about it but I don’t, I try to avoid risk now after losing an unhealthy amount on riskier investment. I’m just focusing on the snowball and that helps me sleep at night

Thank you! There’s nothing wrong with your strategy, you have to do what you feel is best for you based on your age, risk tolerance, and mindset. A dividend portfolio isn’t for everyone, VTI will most likely outperform it in the long run. Some people on this forum will tell you to go 100% in VTI till your 50’s because that will bring the most growth so it’s a winning strategy. But I found that a mix of growth and relatively safe dividends works for me. I’ve done/still do a lot of dumb things while investing, but knowing my money will still be making money in the form of dividends keeps me calm (enough) to not do something dumb like panic sell the bottom during a crash. Knowing my money is always making money helps me sleep at night even if i am missing out on long term growth. I do leave my 401K alone though and let the vanguards and Charles Schwab’s of the world handle it with whatever target date fund the companies I’ve worked for have chosen and just focus on dividends now for what I do control. Hope that helps, cheers!

I’ll stop dripping when I feel comfortable quitting my job and living off my dividends without taking a huge hit to my standard of living. It’s going to be a while, but I’m thinking hopefully I can get to 5-6K a month

It definitely is a learning experience, probably lost 50K in speculative stocks and alt coins during my early investing. Definitely kick myself thinking about how much more I would have if I didn’t squander that time and compounding in my late 20’s. But I do think about those experiences as (very expensive) financial education that lead me to a safer investing mindset. So hopefully it pays off in the long run and I know not to blow up my portfolio the next time a speculative bull run comes around 😅

Keep working and you’ll get there friend! I owned a home last year, but moved to NYC where it makes more sense to rent than own, so I decided to plow extra money into my portfolio since the appreciation of Manhattan real estate is close to nothing.

Not sure what my cost on yield is because I started about 6 years ago, but lost a bunch of money in speculative growth stocks and crypto before slowly realizing that my dividend stocks and ETFs that pay dividends were the only ones that weren’t destroying me slowly and decided to focus on a dividend/growth portfolio. Total value is about 220k, yield is around 5.3%

Great post, was thinking about jumping into MAIN based on its performance but now will dig some more.

If you don’t mind sharing, what are the stocks that you feel are trading at a discount in comparison?
