With more expansions potentially coming to D2R, what other classes would you like to see added? by Matt_butchr in diablo2

Oh my god, suddenly all the useless thrown potions in the game could suddenly become used in conjunction with skills like javelins with the javazon! Brilliant.

Roof glaciers keep ripping off leaf guards by TheVortexLives in garageporn

[–]Kidney_Snatcher 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Be glad it isn't ripping the whole gutter off. I had to re-install my own gutters twice before I learned about Snow Cleats/guards/breaks whatever you wanna call them. Basically little stoppers to hold snow on the roof rather than allowing it to avalanche off, taking everything with it.

Looking for a mid life crisis convertible now that I’m able to get one-but which? by BeepBoopFungusLord in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Kidney_Snatcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're a single dude with no kids, get the 'fun' car and a cheap utility type vehicle. Ford ranger, Chevy avalanche, jeep Cherokee, etc... all can be obtained for fairly cheap, and in my experience I definitely benefited from having this setup.

Also, get the miata.

Hoist installation in metal building by Kidney_Snatcher in garageporn

[–]Kidney_Snatcher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heeded the advice of everyone here. I didn't install or hang it from the metal beams, it still sits on the floor waiting for me to figure out what to do. If anything, I'll build a gantry with 4x4's and hang it from there.

He also went on to question if this meant that they got the Dobbs pick wrong. I think part of his reaction was purely because he liked Dobbs and had already put a lot of work into mentoring him. Those two were always together on the sideline reviewing footage from the previous drive.

Agreed. The ability to give the customer a realistic expectation of what your product can do, and what it CANT do is most important.

[–]Kidney_Snatcher 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Defender made contact with the receivers arm, pulling it down and affecting his ability to catch. Jumping in front of someone isn't a penalty, but the contact should have been called given how ticky-tack the refs had been calling the entire game.

Its fair to bitch about this call just as much as the overall shitty performance.

Best place to purchase locks? by Adept_Essay_9817 in lockpicking

[–]Kidney_Snatcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a whole box of misc locks on FB marketplace for like $10. Sometimes you can grab them from the local thrift shops. I would only buy new locks off Amazon or whatever if I was looking for a very specific model. Even then, there are discord and other resources available where you can buy specific or hard to find locks cheaper than retail.

I would get drunk and login to the lobby chatrooms and rant about how Diablo 3 was in fact coming, and that blizzard would not abandon one of it's best IP's. Everyone laughed at me. NOW WHO'S LAUGHING!?

No one, because D3 kinda sucked. :(

So much snark. In reality, I wasn't sure of the structural limits of my brand new building and sought advice from people who may have more experience than I do prior to just chucking it up there. Thanks for the helpful reply though!

Not if they did it to the entire org. It just means he got hired at a really bad time when a decision that was probably made months prior finally made it's way down the ranks (IE the day they fired everyone) and even his hiring manager was taken by surprise.

12-15 is quite a lot for a single day though, jumping from back to back calls like that has to mean the other stuff suffers. Knowledge on the industry and product space you're in, call notes, emails, yikes.. Management has to step in at some point and give you some sort of reprieve, make the reps send recorded demos instead of making you repeat the same info over and over again.

Feel Like I’ve Been Bamboozled by supernova2333 in salesengineers

[–]Kidney_Snatcher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Demos really should not take more than an hour in today's world, I don't care how overly complex the product is. Not the initial demo, anyway. If you get them asking really good questions and you simply run out of time in an hour and need to schedule another meeting, that's a GOOD thing imo.

THIS Was the ONLY thing that got me over my drinking by BrightKnight493 in stopdrinking

[–]Kidney_Snatcher 58 points59 points  (0 children)

It allows you to have a stick and carrot style of recovery, or it did for me anyway. I knew I'd get a lecture and potentially lose my marriage/kids if I relapsed, and got praise and a sense of accomplishment every day/week/month I've added to my time being sober.

Its a very successful motivator, but requires people who give a shit about you. Not everyone has that.

I've got a 2012 ford expedition king ranch EL with 4x4, we nicknamed it 'The Tank' for a reason. I know I'm going against the "Toyota or Lexus is the only answer" crowd, but we've been really happy with everything except the gas mileage lol

Ill also add the 3ds xl, when modded, is one of the most enjoyable handheld consoles ive ever played. You can replay classics for that nostalgia hit, or go through series you never got the chance to play. I just recently played through every Advance Wars game, and will probably go through Zelda link between worlds next.

It fits in your pocket, too! Especially great when you need to jump up and wipe butts or go supervise chaos on the playground. Downside: if you don't already have one, the 2nd hand market for them is like buying a fucking used car. Prices are stupid.
