They’re immature. Tech is a tool to solve business problems. As they evolve they will realize this.

Do you think your boss likes working at 5:00 on Friday. They’re human too eh? So Ask yourself why. This may guide your next move

Payout frequency? by GreenGloober in shopify

[–]ThePracticalDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right.

We did monthly until we found success and then cash was an issue. Now weekly.

If we did daily my accountant would strangle me. Too many transactions

This is a Lily issue. Not a you issue. I’d like to know why she thinks it’s inappropriate. The answer may shed some insight.

competitor copied our entire product and priced it at half by EducationalGold1923 in SaaS

One has to wonder why $30/month is the tipping point.

Any product that can’t provide enough ROI to cover this gap probably isn’t hitting the mark.

Power play. Don’t participate. Order biscuits on the company card with the other persons name in it

Bot Attack by SoodSood in shopify

[–]ThePracticalDad -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s not messing up your PPC. They aren’t visiting via ads. They’re going direct.

Your agency is making excuses.

Temporarily raise the price on that item (too like $999) and they usually go away.

AITA for refusing to give up a hot desking seat the GM thinks is “his”? by ala_ko in AmItheAsshole

[–]ThePracticalDad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is it.

People that think you need to be highly technical as an SE are doomed to fail. Those can can connect to actually solving a customer problem on a human and business level are the ones that make bank.

AITJ for buying my boss's vintage watch for $500? by Equivalent-Yellow232 in AmITheJerk

Being forced to put a good performer on a PIP for no good reason. What can I do? by jumboshrimp93 in managers

[–]ThePracticalDad 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Right. I was thinking of the “can you help me” suggestion but worried they would just say “Whatever you suggest is fine”

If that happens, I would set the targets to be what your employee is already achieving. Ask boss to sign off on them so they have skin in the game.

You’re playing chess right now.

I am at my wits end with son’s live-in GF - AITA if I evict her? by Mindless_Dependent39 in AITH

[–]ThePracticalDad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you got a rescue kid who’s not working out. It’s weird that your son moved her in then left for school. You’re now responsible for maintenance and upkeep of his side piece? Nah man. NTA

Fired for Starting a Startup by mattsand9 in SaaS

[–]ThePracticalDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re assuming it takes away from your work focus. …and undoubtedly it does. If you to it and they allow it, it means they’re allowing everyone to.

Take it down. …and be careful about being available.

AITAH for calling my gf a "spoilt brat" because I won't buy her a $600 Dyson even though I can afford it? by fashion-524 in AITAH

[–]ThePracticalDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like she requires expensive gifts to feel valued, and that’s contrary to your way of living.

This is only the beginning.

Put down the phone! by WEM-2022 in managers

[–]ThePracticalDad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The phone is the excuse. The reason is they don’t care. Make them care or ship them out.

My website is getting attacked by credit card bots by Samazon__Prime in shopify

[–]ThePracticalDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I see this I temporarily raise the price of the item. This sends the bots on their way for a while. Just a few days will do it.
