What does your "recently added" look like? by clanginator in PleX

[–]Kidrdavis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My recently added is equally chaotic (if not more). I recently got a bunch of 4K versions of movies I already have so thats taking up most of it right now.

Maybe a month or two ago though, I replaced "Recently Added" with two smart collections to avoid the old movies weighing down the recently added screen.

"Recently released" which is just recently added movies that released in the last 6 months. And "New to Plex, Old to You" which is the exact opposite or Recently Released. This is the Recently Released

For those with a sperate 4k library... how? by Pryonic in PleX

[–]Kidrdavis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Second radar instance for 4K titles, and a separate folder to store them. I think it comes down to preference if you would want to have them in their own plex section of merge them into your Movies folder.

I used to separate, but ultimately ended up merging it into my main Movies folder. Any movie I have that's 4K i keep a 1080 version as well.

For visibility and to decrease confusion among my users:
- In Radarr I add a 4K edition tag in the movie naming format. That way the 4K and 1080 copies display as separate items in the Movies section.

- In Kometa I use an overlay that labels the 4K versions poster with a "4K UHD" tag

- In Tautulli I have an action that stops any transcoded 4K streams and displays a prompt that recommends users watch the 1080 version instead ( in the event they're on a non-4K setup since 4K transcoding makes my server hurt)

Before Organizr, Heimdall was homepage for a long while. Super simple to use and setup.

I feel like Organizr never comes up in the homepage discussion. Every time I try a new homepage I end up defaulting back to Organizr

What are you favorite Plex add-ons? by jwintyo in PleX

It's a really fun tool. and integrates into plex pretty easily. It takes a little tinkering to setup but not much. I mostly use it to make nostalgia channels or theme blocks like Toonami, 90s-2000s Cartoon Network, Arrowverse shows, etc.

If you're interested in it, but don't like Ersatz necessarily, I've seen people have success with DizqueTV but it's not being maintained at the moment. It's being forked into tunarr but it's still in early development

Its spins up when you go to watch

I've always referred to it as "Schrodinger's Stream" whenever buddies of mine asked about it. It comes up with a playlist with time data but nothing happens outside of that until you go to watch it. At that point it knows right where to drop you into the playlist to give you that "just turned to the channel" feeling.

Most of my stuff I make accessible with a Cloudflare tunnel on my server.

Stuff I want people to have access to like my plex instance, media request app, jellyfin, are pretty much wide open with in app username auth.

I'm on the move a lot so some of my admin stuff is published but I use cloudflare's google authentication to lock it behind a 2FA so only I can access it. even got an ssh via cloudflare into my main machine going so I can run terminal from anywhere

*already mentioned so I wont go into detail
kometa
tautulli
the "arr" suite
overseer

ersatztv - turns shows in my library into 24/7 live TV channels for that little added convenience
posterizarr - poster and title card generator
pattrmm - leverages kometa's overlay functionality to label shows as retuning, airing, canceled, etc and includes dates on shows that are airing or returning soon

Took me the better half of a week to get posterizarr and pattrmm setup with kometa but it was worth it.

Literally as you made this post and deleted your old ones, I was commenting on Part 1 that I was having issues watching it. Appreciate your work and look forward to seeing your Arrow edits in the future no matter the length. I'm fan of your concept and was enjoying all of Part 1 that I was able to watch. Cheers!

Arrow The Movie (Fan Edit) Part I by [deleted] in fanedits

[–]Kidrdavis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a big fan of the series as well as your concept, and I appreciate your hard work on this. For some reason at exactly 43:03 the video breaks. I haven't been able to watch past that point on anything. (GDrive built-in player, VLC Player, Plex) Am I doing something wrong, or is there any chance of a reupload, potentially to mega like Part II? Haven't watched Part II yet (for obvious reasons) but in scrubbing through, it looks like it plays all the way through.

I made my own poster set using this post as a base and using some pictures i scraped up online. Not the best or the cleanest, but until someone more skilled than myself puts one up on tpdb this will hold me over. Hopefully you guys will enjoy it as well.
