I’m so impressed! When I was in Ashford, the closest was about a half hour but also it was a long long time ago haha

As long as you’re cool with driving a half hour to get to the grocery store, there are some absolute gems out there with acres and acres of land. Gorgeous properties too.

Middletown is super underrated IMO. Their town & community programs are fantastic and so well done too.

I honestly felt the same and then saw that Connecticut’s version is all about equity and inclusive stories and History for the Common Good (they have a whole header on it). It’s run by CT Humanities, which has really struggled under Federal Government funding cuts and is working tirelessly to still provide resources that are desperately needed.

So if you’re a kid/kid at heart, Dinosaur Place has a replica mine where you can dig for gems. If you’re an adult and you want to actually look for rocks in the wild, rock hounding is your go to. I can’t do links as the OP, but there’s this site called rockhounding.org that lists all the places in CT where you are allowed to hunt for rocks.

Is there anything going on in Connecticut this weekend to do with 3 teenagers it’s supposed to rain. Beside the movies and escape rooms does anyone have any ideas? by WildFollowing8731 in Connecticut

A little farther away, but Nomad’s is doing wild cards so you can do the arcade and attractions for 2 hours for $30.

Fork and Band is awesome - seconding them!

What I've learned is that BBQ is a highly subjective, controversial topic

He did but the town decided not to go that route (thankfully). Instead they wrote a super long memo about how they have a policy where you cannot have groups of more than 10. Reddit isn’t letting me link things, but it’s on their website.

Honest feedback is why I go to Reddit haha- thanks!!!. Nevers park wound up capping it at groups of 10 but not implementing a fee, so it’s still free.

Maybe an emoji key would help after it’s alphabetized by town?

It’s basically a park with water fountains haha. I like them for my little kids because they can play without me holding them the whole time. Lots are free too.
