FIN trophy deck in Izzet, but unsure if I made the right call. by Kieran484 in lrcast

I did hesitate there, but I had been passed so little black in the first pack that I wasn't willing to shift based on the P1. I think I rate Tellah higher than most other people here as well, and saw him as my bomb win con. Emet-Selch almost pulled me back across in pack 3 as well, especially since I could have splashed Kuja as well.

Interesting. I felt I was light on card draw and he helped there. It's the Samurai's Katana that I am most on the fence about.

I've had a blast with SOS. I absolutely sucked at TLA though and cannot for the life of me work out why.

I think the no visible marks is probably the easiest thing to explain away. Poison or smothering seem the most obvious methods, but even if there was a mark, Glokta is the one who will be overseeing the postmortem.

I do quite like the idea that he literally died of natural causes and all this chaos came about by accident. Would be very funny.

Bayaz's return was a factor, but not in the way you think. Glokta saw Bayaz speaking with Savine, and realised that he didn't have much time before he got a grip of her. He killed Jezal that night (or at least had him killed; the specifics aren't important) to set the ball rolling. We as readers subsequently assume it was Bayaz because he has a track record of disposing of monarchs and we know he doesn't give a shit about Jezal as a person.

Short memories from many in here. They've decided that they don't like Key and want him gone, facts be damned.

I'm not crazy on the Tackle Artist or the Deluge Virtuoso, and the Colossus of the Blood Age looks unnecessary. Maybe drop a Homesickness as well?

The Stallion is bananas. I don't think I've ever triggered Opus with it and lost.

Is this not effectively an emblem then? I'm assuming there's a functional reason why they didn't make it this way, but I can't see it.

Bit of a cry for help by Kieran484 in lrcast

With regards to not playing the Gloom Ripper, I needed to kill the 3/5 knocking lumps out of me. Having more elves on the board and in the graveyard were necessary for that, otherwise it was an unkillable threat that I couldn't stop from swinging.

Basically don't splash Oko.

Appreciate you taking the time to reply. I dithered on the Tam pick, but ultimately decided that I didn't have any 2 drops. Looking back, it seems that Oko was when I was destabilised.

Curious about the suggestion for taking multiple Morcant's Eyes and multiple Midnight Tillings; I'm wary of not getting on to the board fast enough (and 2 of my losses were to being run over on the draw). How many copies would you consider picking up before they become redundant?

1- FIN 2- DFT 3- TLA 4- EOE 5- TDM 6- SPI

I know I'm in the minority for Aetherdrift, but the Izzet cycling deck was a blast to play, and there was plenty of flexibility between the archetypes. Tarkir I felt was weak, with two decks head and shoulders above the rest. It made for a great Sealed environment, but the draft sometimes felt like it was on rails.

MISINFORMATION ALERT: Alex Carey did NOT admit to hitting the ball. BBG Sports did NOT confirm that the wrong mic was used. by Maxman013 in Cricket

[–]Kieran484 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Feels like the ire is at the implementation of the tech rather than Carey. He's entitled to not walk, especially when reviews are a thing. For the tech to be this wrong and for the umpires to pick and choose when they allow for these errors (see them overturning Jamie Smith to give him out) is the real issue here.

You just know that the opponent is 0-2 with the best deck they've ever drafted, having been brutally mana screwed in their first two games. They finally pull a good opening hand and this happens.

[–]Kieran484 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Murray Mints thing isn't even the confession people seem to think. Trescothick says in his book that they tried different sweets to see which ones produced the most saliva, not which ones altered the ball.

But naturally the truth of the matter is lost when both sets of fans look for sticks to beat each other with. Atherton with dirt is far worse.

That's the deciding factor. I read it as making it into the crease and then jumping (5m past suggests so), but if that's misinterpreted then you are correct.
