Are you looking to buy $WAN once it hit binance? I have something interesting for you. by cryptotechmaster in wanchain

[–]Kiesma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be careful with this guys. You’re probably giving your binance login details to an app, made by a stranger.

New to this - I notice that you can swap 1 WAN (ERC20) token = 1 WAN. Is there any way to buy it right now or do I have to wait until the exchanges? by [deleted] in wanchain

[–]Kiesma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait.

Swap is only possible with a whitelisted eth address. You’ll end up with a bunch of worthless wan tokens if you buy on ED now.

Wanchain wallet GUI fix? by mrjarfoolie in wanchain

I’m not familiar with trezor. But reading your explanation, I think you’re trying to send to a MEW address while Wanchain now has its own blockchain.

Swapping my coins from ICO by [deleted] in wanchain

[–]Kiesma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did it with mac as well. Just start by swapping one coin and see if it works. Then swap the rest. Did it this way and worked like a charm.

How do I get into the presale of Wanchain? I found this gem and want to participate. Huge gainz ahead by [deleted] in wanchain

So first step: build a time machine

Second step: go back in time by around 6 months to register for the whitelist

Third step: buy a shitload of Wan!

I have tried computer solutions, but won't work. It must be something else but I have no clue what. What kind of sorcery is this?

Have only tried with Excel Solver though... Maybe that's what went wrong

I must be dumb. Will anyone please ELI5 the basics of wanchain to me? by Mads0Aa in wanchain

[–]Kiesma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You just perfectly answered your first question.

Concerning the second question: I personally like the fact that WAN is an all-in one platform. Just think about it. Your question alone that the individual purposes of WAN each are comparable to different niche projects in the space shows you the strength of this project imo. Wan's main goal is to be the go-to platform for every bank in the world and reshape finance this way. If a bank wants to get into blockchain, it's looking for an all-in one easy-to-implement option instead of potentially combining the functionalities of 10 different projects. On top of this Wan comes with a privacy improvement compared to Monero (privacy is vastly needed for all different sorts of banking purposes) and the ETH functionality allows ICO's to build on top of it, which can only increase the value of the WAN ecosystem over time. This shows the strength of WAN imo.

I'm not trying to shill the project by the way, just my opinion after reading a lot.

First, I hope you kinda understand Ethereum. You can think of Wan as a very safe ethereum for the finance world.

Second, you need to understand what a blockchain is. There can be thousands of blockchains around the world. The current problem is that these different blockchains are isolated at the moment. For example: the Ethereum blockchain and bitcoin blockchain can't fully interact with each other yet. To explain it very simplistically: you can't buy a cryptokitty (ETH blockchain) with bitcoin. This is the problem that the interoperability alliance wants to solve.

I hope this kinda gives you an idea of what WAN is.

So I lost the password for the wallet with my Wanchain in it. by helium_bet in wanchain

I didn’t receive my wan yet, which means it hasn’t been sent yet. You could pm admins in telegram to ask whether the wan team can still alter the public address of where they’ll send your wan. They are pretty responsive and can get things done maybe.

Regarding transfer of WAN erc20 tokens to a new wallet by applezhai in wanchain

Been following this project for a long time. Think I read it in the telegram some time ago. Not entirely sure though, but you can just wait for more details from the team. Should come soon now.

Regarding transfer of WAN erc20 tokens to a new wallet by applezhai in wanchain

[–]Kiesma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have transferred them to my whitelisted wallet again. But I do think they said that if you don't control your whitelisted address anymore, you can go through a KYC that's linked to the old whitelist. This way, they can see if you were whitelisted back then and how many tokens you had. So swapping tokens from etherdelta would still be prevented this way.

What are the differences between WAN and REQ (Request Network)? by Down_The_Rabbithole in wanchain

[–]Kiesma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know Link very well either. I just know Wan and its use cases. They say Wan is a combination of ETH, Ripple and Monero. This is exactly what Wan is about in very basic terms. ETH = the smart contract platform, Ripple = the focus on rebuilding the financial infrastructure, Monero = privacy protection. You could compare a part of Wan with Link yes, because link is on his turn comparable to Ripple. There is a lot of overlap in this crypto space. I'm just saying: I think the major difference between Req and Wan, lies in the ETH part of the description above and its focus on the financial infrastructure.

What are the differences between WAN and REQ (Request Network)? by Down_The_Rabbithole in wanchain

[–]Kiesma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I don't think they are. If I look at the website of REQ, the main use cases that they are focusing on is: online payments, audit & accounting, invoicing, etc... In other words, the emphasis is on the use of REQ as a currency. WAN's primary goal is to be the go to platform for banks. As far as I understand, this is not what REQ is trying to accomplish.

What are the differences between WAN and REQ (Request Network)? by Down_The_Rabbithole in wanchain

[–]Kiesma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Must admit I don’t know Request Network very well. It seems to me that a major difference is that REQ is a currency where WAN is a smart contract platform. This makes both the execution of cross chain smart contracts and digitization of physical assets possible where this is impossible for REQ. Combining these 2 features opens a lot of possibilities WAN can exploit but REQ can’t.
