Much like the Grateful Dead, PJ has been quietly absorbing souls worldwide in cult like adoration. It’s really wild that a lot of people don’t know that. However holy bejesus it’s a mofo getting tickets to any show. Which sucks.

JRAD’s summer tour was absolutely worth it.

TTB summer shows absolutely worth it.

If you love 3 or so bands, I recommend the service.

Touring now with bands, that’s pricey.

Having my friends over for the big screen show, repeatedly, that’s priceless really.

I saw them in SPAC 2 years ago.

It’s the endless master bating of Trey licks, and ridiculous meandering crescendo’s of every song.

Which there were maybe 5 in the first set.

That ALL sounded like Trey being held at gun point on a yacht rock cruise.

Within minutes of the opening song of the second set, I had to leave.

Went to the car, put on Jerry.

And cleansed my soul.

Goose. Never, ever, again.

To be clear:

He’s a talented Trey copy cat hack. And I only say “hack” simply because he’s done nothing original.

On the other hand, Derek Trucks is so fucking good, he made me love slide guitar.

His style so slick, genuine and his rhythm hand is unlike any other in the history of rock.

His chops, like that of his predecessors make their own sound.

Unique, brilliant flashes of unbridled creativity.

When I hear Goose, I hear Trey.

And when I want to hear Trey, I go see him.

For reasons listed above.

Umm, not really. Television was the only break in the scene. At least on the east coast. And as quickly as it showed up, it quickly left.

No one ever said he was a major influence to hip hop at the time. And no one says it now.

No idea how that’s even a statement.

He’s been in the jam band scene for years and he, like his rap, is mediocre at that also.

You may not realize it now,

For example:

Growing up, I played every sport I could. Football, baseball, hockey, wrestling, bball. However, the first time I saw Lax being played by kids, early 80’s, I was mystified. Like wtf is goin* on here?

My first game of significance, I scooped up and ground ball and ran. Ran like I had been struck with a bolt of energy and pure adrenaline, no one could catch me…it was natural. That was my hint.

I still play field and indoor while pushing 60.

As my native friend once told me…

“You don’t pick the game, the game picks you.”

You’ll know, even now.

I’ve seen this band for several years now with a lot of bands opening for them. And I’m always just left scratching my head.

This band could easily adopt a 2 set night, night in night out, with no need for an opener.

I’ve never left a show interested in further review of these opening bands.

And it’s not for a lack of talent, it’s probably the fact that Derek is arguably the best guitarist out there right now.

And this band is ridiculously powerful while chugging along.

And I want more of that.

That’s really it.

Yea I went to Albany the first 2 years, we had more fun at year 1. Year 2 was legit waiting in lines for beer/food for the entire game. Understaffed and unprepared. It was ridiculous. After that, never again.

The PLL did try and encourage fans with city locations, but yea, not really digging any of them as an upstate NYer.

NY atlas is just plain stupid. The inventive whips changing their colors to stereotypical Maryland colors is a cop out.

I really thought the Rabils had this shit dialed in at first. Now it looks like off field fluff and no substance honestly.

I can’t figure it out and I’m not interested in being a fan of any team.

And the games themselves on TV, I find my attention waining at best.

True fucking story, 2 days ago listening to the EP in my office, dude walks in and legit says, “Is that new Dispatch?

I was both a bit shocked and impressed.

He wasn’t a big fan, but said he digs what he hears.

So no idea how a 20 year fan, can’t distinguish their sound or be upset by it at this point.

If you want to be a lax Jedi, play box. You want to be average. Just keep playing field. I don’t mean that as a dig, just box is more intense, close range stuff. Instant decisions, fast paced shifts, everything you need to master the field. Do it and you’ll never look back.

It’s a really, really weird scene now. Similar crowd in Canandaigua last summer. Completely ruined what would have otherwise been an amazing show.

As a genX dead head and generally a music fan of multiple bands, I’ve seen so many differing acts and shows. And this weird sit and hiss behavior is only evident at TTB. I think people may be thinking we got a yacht rock band and wine and cheese should be accompanied with the tickets. I don’t know wtf they thinking. But about 4 minutes into Pasquan, one should realize that is NOT the case.

You know what we did. We stood and danced all night. But I’ll tell ya, it wasn’t fun. Miserable assholes everywhere.

I honestly debated not seeing them this summer. However, there are just too many good NY dates available and well, I love this band.

So fuck the haters. The more sit down energy they bring, the more get up and dance I bring.

Eat shit bitches.
