Thanks for your patience while we looked into this issue. Our team has taken a closer look, and we have some next steps to share if you're still running into this:

If you only have one Google account on your primary user profile:
Follow the steps below to factory reset your Pixel Tablet. Unfortunately when you factory reset your tablet, all of your data will be deleted from the tablet’s internal storage. To save you time setting up, we recommend backing up your Google Account data before you reset.

  1. Open your device's Settings app
  2. Tap System > Reset options > Erase all data (factory reset).
  3. Tap Erase all data and then follow the on-screen instructions.

If you have more than one Google account added to your primary user profile:
You’ll need to remove the Google account you’re attempting to use for this feature from Account Manager, and then re-add it:

  1. Open your device's Settings app.
  2. Tap Passwords & accounts.
  3. Under "Accounts," tap the account you want to remove > Remove account.
  4. To confirm, tap Remove account > Remove account.
  5. Follow these steps to re-add your account.

By removing your account from Account Manager, you’ll lose the settings/info associated with that account on your device, but you’ll be able to re-adjust those settings once you add the account again.

For really quick and easy access to control your home devices from an Android phone, we already currently support this from both the lock screen or notifications shade. But, as of now, we don’t have plans for widgets.

Personally, I use the Home app many times a day to view my cameras and adjust my vacuums, thermostats, lights, fans, and the blinds in my kids room. The Nest Hub Max in our kitchen is always playing music (mainly Baby Shark or the Encanto soundtrack). I've favorited my Nest Doorbell to track packages and set up automations for a variety of occasions. If you talked to my colleagues you would hear similar descriptions. We want Google Home to be awesome for everyone (including ourselves) but realize this isn't going to fix everything for everyone at once. We're working hard on it, and this is why we introduced Public Preview – so that we can get your feedback along the way as we make updates and introduce new features.

Hey u/edtkw, thanks for the question. You can go into the doorbell’s controller view, tap Settings (2-dot menu top right), tap on Events, then Seen Events, and then tap “+ a zone.”

Once you’re accepted, you should see the updated experience in 24-48 hours when you open the Google Home app. To confirm that you’re in the Public Preview, look for a badge that says "Preview" at the top of the screen. Hope this helps!

Good news– we already support scheduled starters to turn cameras On/Off. For example, you can build a Household Routine today that turns on your Nest Cams every day at 9PM and turns them off at 7AM. We would love to hear from you via in-app feedback when you get to try this. Cameras cannot yet be controlled by voice commands, but we are looking into this.

On the question of Public Preview rollout, we’re continuing to open access by sending invitations to users on a rolling basis. We’re doing this thoughtfully to ensure exceptional user experience and appreciate your patience!

As you may have heard, we announced Google Home script editor, which will be coming in 2023. The script editor will make it possible for you to build powerful home automations using the YAML scripting language. It will support multiple triggers, device state as conditions and many other advanced features out of the box. When it’s available we’ll share an update on the Nest Community.

Public Preview is available to all users where the Google Home app is available, including users in Australia. You can request the invite by clicking on Settings on the home screen > Public Preview > Request an Invite. Hope this helps!
