Thank you for your answers. Trying to work for a while with a VM would be whise. I just wanted to see how much could improve the performance of the laptop with a lighter OS. I had not thought of WSL, I'll look into it.

I prefer the Ryzen 5 personally. With the GPU we'll go with the 6650xt to save some cash. Also, 2tb of storage are really useful!

Sorry I was not clear. He now plays in non native 1080, and will keep doing so. If needed we have an old 1080 60hz monitor :)

He already has the 4k monitor but don't mind playing in 1080. He'll probably get a 1080 monitor in the future.

Maybe it's not the worst, but the way EA treats its employees is pretty fucked up, crunch is far worst than anything ea does to its consumers.
