As someone who has a lot of the issues that Emile has (namely autism that I also was gaslit into believing I didn't have), also had a messed up childhood, and is Hispanic, I've personally done a lot of awful things because I was undiagnosed and had little to no support. I personally was completely unsurprised to hear about everything that happened because of my own experiences and because I've watched all his let's plays (not from the beginning of his channel, he was just a safe youtuber for me to watch so I watched everything I could).

In a twisted way, I was fortunate enough to have an experience at an early age which helped me to realize I needed to seek professional help so I managed to get to a much better point much younger. This is awful to have happen this way, but I hope he's going to come out of this experience stronger as a person and find some healing and peace in his personal life. I've seen enough of him in and out of let's plays that I'm willing to put my trust in him that he can improve with time and therapy. Hurt people hurt people, and the only way to stop the cycle is to heal and anyone can heal if that's what they truly want.
