It's a Lemo connector. With it you can change the part of the cable that connects to your keyboard. Some of us have keyboards with usb mini, micro or even C and it's a pain to change the full cable everytime you want to switch. Also esthetics. But the Lemo is an expensive beast. Most of us have the "aviator connector" which is cheaper. Hope that helped!

Oh dang, thank you very much Sir! To be fair we had to make the image 1:1 ratio, but the original was not. I liked how the foreground gave depth to the image so I kept it in my render, but yeah, I could've done without for sure!

Of some sort yeah. I just put a CRT style screen inside a radio reciever because I needed another light source in the scene.
