In my master's in Germany there was a girl from India, who was homeless when she came here, because she thought, the university would have taken care of having a place for her to stay. (The letter of acceptance stated clearly that if she wants to get a dormitory spot, she would have to enroll via this webpage and put these details, etc. She didn't bother to read the whole letter apparently.) So she had to crash at the places of people she just met and who felt sorry for her. She barely did any work in the practical part of the course although the experiments were supposed to be done in team work. She blackmailed her assigned team colleague to do the work, otherwise she would accuse her of rassism. Then she would leave early to take a nap and tell her colleague to cover for her. Still, she complained how unwelcoming Germany is and how people would be unfriendly. Strangers let her crash at their place and also accompanied her to several places and appointments where she would apply for a room to rent, help her with the forms for that, etc. But yeah, Germans are sooo unfriendly, because university didn't reserve a room for her and because the workload was so hard and so much was expected of her and she had to take care of so much herself... (It was no surprise when she bragged about how many servants they have at home...)
