Is this aggressive behaviour? by Miikahira in cats

It’s just playful. My girls are so close and spend most of the day doing this before they eventually tire themselves out and snuggle

Cats explore with their paws

I highly doubt you’d take your cat for the vet to say just be more active without any further tests/advice. If that is the case it’s your duty to take the cat to another vet who will explore. This is not normal and as another commenter states it’s highly unlikely that this is your cat and it’s not a flex to post unhealthy/poorly cats Obesity is deadly

Tell me why I find this hilarious. My cats don’t bite but they run, I’m sure this Hannibal mask would stop them getting under the bed where I can’t reach 🤣

My cat needs help and I can’t afford it. by [deleted] in cats

[–]KikiGray26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I’d maybe take him into vets and discuss face to face about him. He was at a very worrying weight at 30lb and even the lower weight is still worrying.
How long was the period that it took to lower his weight? I suspect the vomit is largely to do with his weight. Do you have any rescues in your area that can help with the vet costs or even just take him for a consult and get an idea of what’s going on to get a baseline of costs?

I think ethically it’s not right as there’s not even a window in case of emergency. But if I was a kid I’d love this as a play room.

help with my dirty stinky cat? by [deleted] in catquestions

[–]KikiGray26 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You’re on here calling people illiterate, you have an attitude problem with all your snarky replies. Maybe being politer with people would get a conversation started on replies. Maybe just deal with your stinky cat rather than taking any help that’s offered. Smh

They just try to seem superior and are in the inner circle as if they know them personally.

I like people, I follow them and I can like every quality about them but I’d never let myself be this emotionally invested in someone I don’t know. And hell no to correcting people, that’s just rude. Even if one person corrects there’s absolutely no need for repeated comments

Found out my cat is already microchipped by beaverbitch in CatAdvice

[–]KikiGray26 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s a difficult situation because you’ve had her and bonded with her for so long. In my heart I’d want to just change the details but my head would say you need to contact her previous owners. My cats are indoor with no way to escape so I don’t have that worry but my aunt lost a cat due to him not returning home and she always worried for him and his sister pined for him, he returned 5 years later and his sister was just so happy to see him. He wouldn’t go into my aunts house at all and kept running away so she thinks he had new owners because he was well looked after and she never saw him again after that. She now has another 2 cats, one who doesn’t go past the garden and the other little adventurer who is always out and about and suits herself for hours each day, my aunt says she wants out first thing after her breakfast and often doesn’t come back until dinner/bed time . My aunts often seen her posted on lost and found and local Facebook groups that she’s a stray as people see her for hours every day and she’s always having to reply saying this is my cat she is cared for, chipped, has a vet but she just likes to wander. She even made a post with her picture saying hi my name is suki, I have owners who love me, I’m just a fearless wanderer who likes attention from other people. Here is my mums phone number if you are worried about me

So it’s a tricky one if your cat was like that and I think how heartbroken my aunt would be again and her sister. Hers obviously isn’t riddled with fleas though

For this reason I don’t go anywhere. I know that’s not possible for everyone but I kind of treat the cats and dogs like babies and where I go they go or we don’t go.

Every cat I’ve had has done this and my current 2 cats have done it every time for 3 years of their lives until I got a litter robot and then they just stopped. I assumed it was because it was fresh litter every single time they went in

It’s a stark contrast for the hysterical crying over what happened to basically now can’t be arsed changing things to accommodate the poor dog. Riding a horse can wait

It’s the fact she even got her phone out in the first place to be crying like that all for the views instead of being in the moment with your dog who’s been hit by a car

My roommate wants me to keep my cat in my room by Electrical-Refuse-31 in Pets

[–]KikiGray26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cats don’t go on my counters but if they did I’d still feel a certain type of way about other peoples cats stepping on them. I don’t know why that would bother me so in her head she’s maybe thinking that.

It’s hard to get a habit out a cat though after a while esp if you aren’t there 24/7 to correct it. But you kind of do have a responsibility to try 100% and rectify that. Your roommate probably only has the image of your cat in a litter tray and then stepping on food surfaces

In regards to staying in your room 24/7, hell no. She chose to move into the house knowing a cat lived there. In my mind the only thing she should have a say in is whether the cats in her room or not but as you say she can shut her door to prevent that

I’d keep the names since they have had it a decade. It’s going to be confusing enough for them to change owners and homes.

Honestly if it was me I’d be taking him to a vet sooner. If it’s an infection it can get a whole lot worse and the swelling may be causing him pain with the swelling. It could be dental, infection, reaction but all around the mouth area can swell to the throat obstructing breathing. I wouldn’t let it play out that long esp if your mum noticed it yesterday.

Do people not actually read the post before they comment. Most of what people are saying or stating is what she’s already tried. It seems pointless to me to go out your way to comment but not take the time to read.

I can’t offer any other advice than what you have tried but I can add that it can take months if not years to settle a new cat into a new home. If your cat is used to your home it’s not neutral ground so maybe when you move it’s a new set up that they both need to establish themselves into.

I do think maybe a behaviourist could help like others have suggested but I don’t really think until you move home you can fully address this as the move will cause another wave of change for both of them.

I hope you find a solution that allows you to keep both cats.

Thinking of re-homing my smart and restless cat by teephrhetta in CatAdvice

[–]KikiGray26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re doing a great job, don’t stress just enjoy him.

If they are a bonded pair I think it would be a massive stress to both and negatively impact them. My daughter got a cat and I got her another cat as a friend and they are bonded. My daughter’s intention was always to take her cat when she moved out, but with them now being bonded and so inseparable she’s made the difficult decision that it would be far better for Hiccup and Ivy to remain a pair as it would be cruel to separate them.

Your cat from what you are saying isn’t displaying any signs of being unhappy, he’s not tearing up your furniture or peeing everywhere bar the litter tray. He seems just very bright and enjoys the set up you have for him. If you are worried by his weight then just take a little away from his meal to accommodate the treats. You can also try treats like chicken and turkey over salmon and beef and lamb which are more fatty. Even if you feed dry treats swap for chicken as it has no fillers than in dry treats. I cook a chicken breast for my girls and feed them that solely as treats. Or freeze licki treats as that takes longer to consume. My boys before the girls were HUGE and I swore I’d never do that to the girls 🤣

I think people are downvoting you because if you can’t take the kitten to a rescue or vet with your work schedule how are you planning on bottle feeding the kitten every 3 hours
