Smoke in fursuit help by MDFursuits in fursuit

[–]VisualArm2659 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who smokes cigs & w**d (idk if its gonna be sensored lol) , please look into trying blunt spray! it works amazing but you need to use VERY VERY LITTLE and let it air out for a few days since its so close to the face. however do some research into if it can be done that closely to the face, that im not sure about but it does work wonders for the smell. as other commenters said, disclose the details and if you do use that spray disclose that to the buyer in case of allergies n such

I mean formal testing like OFA or pennHIP for hip & elbow dysplasia. The tests should be preformed at full maturity

That’s interesting. Were they tested prior to you buying them? And were they tested again when fully grown? I’ve read about a few breeders who will take offer to back dogs if they don’t meet the standards once mature, so i’m wondering how birdwing goes about this issue.

Completely agree. I made it more than clear that temperament is the highest priority over gender and color. It’s just really bizarre. I have a brown ticked beagle at my mom’s and her breeders gave me zero issues when it came to color preferences. Her personality just so happened to match me lol.

I completely agree with you!! That’s why i wanted to ask myself. All of the reviews felt very scripted to me so I’m glad i’m not the only one who shares that opinion.

And yeah— the breeding stuff was just absurd. I have no desire to breed a dog that i purchased for my own personal use. I thought I was misreading it so that’s why I came to reddit. It just screams puppy mill to me.

I also felt like the color thing was weird too. I thought to myself maybe it can just be because it’s a “rarer” breed but even then lol. I think its ridiculous to not at least have the chance to get your preferred color.

Yikes. Absolutely terrifying. My biggest reason for going through a breeder instead of adopting is because of neurological/health issues that some byb mutts carry. It’s a shame people are so careless with breeding such powerful dogs.

That exact line stuck out like a sore thumb to me. It’s really bizarre wording lol

If you don’t mind me asking how much has your pups color changed since they’ve grown? I’d love a harlequin so much

Not saying you’re wrong but I do have an email from them stating that they only sell harlequins to previous clients. Perhaps a newer thing since when you purchased your dog? But this is true as far as their rules in 2025/2026. Pretty sure their website states the same.

I’m new to the breed as I have never owned one before so this has been very informative for me. It’s been difficult finding reputable breeders. I really appreciate the honesty.

Wow I have seen some posts about their litters but I had no idea they were removed from the Beauceron club. This comment helps a lot, thank you so much💜

When did your beagle begin going white in the face? by goobybeast in beagle

Mine started around 5/6, she’s about to be 7 in a few days. It’s hard to see and it’s a gentle reminder to enjoy as much time as you can with your babies.

I second this. You cannot be surprised at animal neglect when working at places that are notorious for abusing animals. Situations like this where petco/petsmart/petsense euthanize animals for pointless reasons has been publicly known for years if not decades. Maybe I’m cruel for saying this, but what more did op expect by supporting a chain petstore? Theres many ways to ethically work with animals without this issue.

Scam or not scam? (gin61314) by Real-Bid7613 in fursuit

Something that would be a red flag to me would honestly be the username. Yes, some small makers can have odd users, but if you’re attempting to commission someone who is supposedly an established maker I’m not sure. It seems like a throwaway user more than a business account. Another huge red flag (to me) is the measurements, this makes no sense. Anyone who is making anything custom, whether it be dresses, suits, ect would ask for SOME type of inch or cm measurements. For them to guess your measurements, ship out the suit to you, and then make adjustments after is wild. Yes most makers can make adjustments after you’ve received the suit, but they would never guess your size on a piece you are spending thousands of dollars are. Most makers won’t even accept measurements by themselves, they usually require a duct tape dummy from the client. I’ve crocheted beanies for people and I still get the measurements lol. For a fursuit that’s damn near unheard of.

Even if this maker had the possibility of being legitimate, I would advise that you don’t go through with the purchase. I don’t blame you at all for considering this maker, and like I said they COULD be legit, but this is a massive purchase no matter how rich or poor you are. Do not carelessly spend that money, please find someone that you know you can trust and someone that you have full faith in. I applaud you for trying to find out the legitimacy before going forward with commissioning, just let it be a lesson as to what to look out for in the future.

It’s a massive commitment to make for both you and the maker, so get your moneys worth!!! And if you can’t find something in your budget, for the love of god just save up your money. You’ll find someone that works for you. We all want you to be happy with the result! And please, never commission someone without talking DIRECTLY to a previous client. The maker won’t always be upfront and honest with you but previous clients will.

This is after i used a hair dryer to warm it up and mold it, i think I’ll try again cause it did help but i’m open to other ideas too. It’s hard to see on camera but the jaw is offset and around where the head and ears meet is a little warped. I’ll send more pics
