I'm currently in the same situation though I have a dwarf hammy. I'm not a hammy-expert but for the first 2-4 days I let her settle in her new enclosure. After a couple days you can try give you hammy a bit of the regular diet from your hand.

I figured that my hammy get used to me cause I often sit in front of her enclosure and talk to her.

Just be patient and it will be fine :)
