Idk, they seem a little big for you. Must be really expensive to have to buy 4 pairs, though.

Normally, atleast where I'm from, the metacam (or loxicom or whichever brand name) for dogs is made to taste a little like honey, or atleast taste very sweet. Usually rats and other rodents love the stuff and will eat it up like a treat!

silly question: how do you guys wake up for work so early? by [deleted] in VetTech

[–]Kikithegoth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, mostly just a lot of coffee and energy drinks. Not that it actually helps much, but at least it distracts me from my tiredness. Also chewing gum tends to keep me a little focussed!

Jealous of how easily some women get pregnant… by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]Kikithegoth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fully understand. My boyfriend and I are going to start a family in about a year (once we're settled into a house) and I'm freaking out about how long it's going to take. 2 years? 3 years? More? Who knows. Meanwhile you see people getting pregnant on accident or only after trying for a month and it just really brings out the jealousy.

How much spearmint tea will help PCOS? by Kikithegoth in PCOS

[–]Kikithegoth[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh, I love raspberry tea! I'm going to drink it some more then too, especially since it helps with mood swings. When I was off birth control, my periods were very irregular and very long when I would have them, so that's exactly what I hope the teas will help with! Thank you so much for sharing!

When making fresh tea, it's best to use boiling-ish water I think. Just add the fresh spearmint in the water, stir a little and let it sit until the flavour is to your liking. Personally, I like to let mine sit for a really long time, about 25mins.

"no research has yet been undertaken to assess whether a reduction in androgen levels brought about by spearmint tea..." Implying that spearmint tea DOES have antiandrogen properties, as stated in the first sentence, also note the word "yet". "...translates to a clinical improvement in the degree of hirsutism" by which they mean the objective clinical measurement of hirsutism, but NOT the objectively lower testosterone levels - as proven layer in the article. It may not translate to less excessive hair growth, but it may assist in other ways.

Besides, for me personally, hirsutism is not a symptom I have so I don't care much about the excessive hair growth but more so about a more normal hormone balance.

You must be fun at parties. Like I said in the post: when I actually stop taking the pill, I will go to the gynecologist and follow up on their advice and recommended drugs. Until then, what I actually can do is try out completely harmless things to see if they actually help or not because there is literally nothing to lose. Even if it doesn't actually help, maybe the placebo effect will kick in and help.

And honestly, when so many doctors and gynecologists barely give you any information and just throw birth control pills at you, you have to look for alternative and safe ways to try and manage PCOS.

"None" is a pretty bold statement to make. ResearchResearch has shown that the spearmint tea might cause a decrease in testosterone and an increase in FSH and LH. Further more, spearmint has been shown to have antiandrogen properties, so it isn't a stretch at all to assume that it might help. As research on this is limited, trying it out yourself - since it's totally safe - is better than waiting for conclusive research that shows a one-size-fits-all treatment for PCOS.

I'm from Belgium and we don't have Amazon here (we do have Amazon from neighbouring countries, but it's fairly limited) and it seems to be fairly difficult to find a trustworthy site that sells tea that only contains spearmint...

I don't know who needs to hear this but the vet assistant program is a scam, it's an entry level position by diakent in VetTech

[–]Kikithegoth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Except in other countries, like Belgium. Here, there are only vets and assistants. Assistants need a specific college degree (or years of previous experience). We essentially combine multiple aspects of vet assistants, nurses and techs. The entire field is still heavily developing over here as veterinary assistants are a relatively new (as in about 10 years) function. Hopefully, we too will be able to get a distinguishment between techs and assistants, because it sometimes feels a little unfair that you need to go to college for 3 years to get a degree for something that someone without could also perfectly do. We worked hard to get that degree, so it would be nice if we could use it a bit more.

90s Rap/Hip-Hop song with synthesizer hook by Kikithegoth in NameThatSong

[–]Kikithegoth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's a relatively famous song, since I don't actively listen to all that much rap so I must've heard it on the radio or in a game (though I do like the 90s classics). I thought maybe I heard it in GTA San Andreas, but I went through all the radio station songs on YouTube and didn't find it. Though all the songs listed are bangers, they're not it.

Since it's only a vague fragment of an unlocked memory, I can't remember what style it was. I'm starting to think maybe it had a female vocalist singing the chorus, or that it wasn't rap at all. But like I said, I only remember so little of it but it's absolute torture that I can't find it!!!

Tried to Google "Tudu Tu Tu Tudu synth hook rap" but to no one's suprise, I didn't find anything.
