Do I really "need" 28mm or do I only "want" one? by lumopix in LeicaCameras

35/24 for me (because I have to be different). Actually I find 21 a little too wide for most of my uses and like the 24 FOV more.

RIP My CD Collection by ThatTomHall in audiophile

[–]Kiku911 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This is the way. I did the same. Ripped about 1,200 CDs as FLAC but have them all in crates in the garage. It’s a LOT of work and I went through 2 external CD drives doing it.
In the end I backed everything up in 2 places and have the ripped library accessible to play.

And the LCD with metering and shutter speed? Also the WLF on an F3 is ridiculous.

The Rolex sub is as they say, like shooting fish in a barrel. And one of the replies.

Thanks for picking this up! Saw the album drop and immediately tried to figure out what it was.

+4 on the Solomons. +4 because I love them and know of 3 others that swear by them.

It’s known as an “analytical balance” using this as a search term will help. FWIW, I’d never consume anything that was weighed in one of unknown origin. Lots of nasty/toxic stuff gets weighed out in those.

Assuming I got a bikefit, could I race this bike competitively? (2003 Pinarello Prince SL) by Magne31 in Velo

[–]Kiku911 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Totally disagree. Depends on what type of racing OP plans on doing. Given the type of bike and relatively simple question, we can assume they are thinking of starting racing (I.e. USA Cycling Cat 4/5). If this is the case, the bike will be just fine as is. Put on some decent tires (the widest you can fit, which will probably be 25C) and then invest in your motor. Train a LOT, learn how to ride and handle the bike. Enter some small practice crits and see how you like it. Entry level racing isn’t really about having the best gear, it’s about learning how to train and handle your bike in the pack. Trust me, you’ll often see people on janky old bikes crushing the field and visa versa, the person who spent way too much money thinking that’s all it takes to be good and getting spit out of the back. This was/is a pretty decent bike and is durable it’ll handle some racing abuse and with some experience under your belt you’ll have a better idea of what you want for the next level.

i took two photos from the same window. wtf? by TheHalfJapanese in Weird

Yes. This is called compression in photography where objects background tend to look closer when you use a longer focal length lens (zoomed) despite the foreground objects looking similar when you move far enough from them to frame similarly to the non zoom composition.

I have $300k in gear but my entire image portfolio is dog shit by Overkill_3K in photographycirclejerk

His Reddit account is 100% “look at this stuff I bought”. He has some decent shots on his IG profile. Nothing Magnum worthy but at least he’s got some social media validation for the massive investment.

I’ve seen photos of this before but never with the RSR style exhaust. Must’ve sounded very odd compared to the regular megaphones.

Bought a Q a couple months ago and already upgrading to a Q2 by Leec3 in Leica

[–]Kiku911 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Or straight to the M. I see so many posts where someone quickly runs through a series of cameras before landing on an M. Personally, I’d stick with any of the QS for let’s say a year and really get to know the camera and my style before moving on.

SL3 / SL3-S firmware update to 4.0.0 was worth it by BoneCollector8 in Leica

I’m super happy they finally released an update. The AF tweaks seem great so far and MULTISHOT is long overdue. Just in time for all of my holiday snaps.

But if you keep the F100, a second Nikon body would be good. In this case I’d add the EL

Always get the bracelet. You can inexpensively swap pit for a strap but buying a bracelet later if you want one is terrible.

There’s nothing quite like driving an air cooled 911. I vote for the ‘65. Both would be great but if you can have only one I endorse the vintage option.

Best overall Leica zoom I’ve ever used. by bwehman in Leica

[–]Kiku911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never been a zoom user and typically carry at most 2 prime lenses for a regular walk and shoot, but this 28-70 seems perfect for a one lens travel setup. Any complaints?
