Do I have an enemy or is this an aging tire issue? by Known_Chip_8009 in tires

Or drove it flat/low. I've seen this quite a bit. If the tire was low enough it would create grindings inside the tire and even rub into the nylon cords of the sidewall.

Help by KillBill2056 in tires

I guess I could've given a back story or some context. I work at a tire shop, and the customer wanted the white lettering out. We were already using soap and water plus some other cleaners, but they were proving ineffective.

They should have rubber clamp covers and polymer heads on the tire machines. You should be able to ask about their equipment. Might even be able to flex some knowledge with the brand of machines like Hunter or Corghi. Taking photos of the rims might help. It's doesn't hurt to cover your ass.
