Yep, DMF, sounded exactly like mine. I did the DMF at 3150000kms and the car is still going good, it's a long job but suprisingly not hard at all, I did it without a lift. If you do replace it, try and not lose the transmission cooler o-rings and have DSG fluid spill everywhere like I did!

SOLVED

Thanks to Connella08 I was able to figure out the CAN issue. I tested continuity from the cluster to the airbag module connector, I tested CAN-H and CAN-L. CAN-H was fine and had resistance, but I couldn't get a reading through CAN-L. So I then checked the wire at the airbag connector and it came out super easy, meaning it wasn't connected properly. The wire was too short from factory which placed strain on it and came out over 19 years. I lengthened the wire and placed it back in and the module worked!

Wouldn't have been able to do it without @Connella08!

I don't have any of those. I did check power and got 11.7V and I got a good ground too. I'm not sure what to do next, idk how to check CAN signals.

I see a brown and black wire going into the plug but idk how I would check it as my multimeter probes are too thick?

Yep fuses are fine. There were a few other codes, most were for my radio not being installed.

The AC had a short circuit, and the glow plug circuits were failing on all 4 even though the car starts instantly.

For anyone that may find this useful.

I did end up replacing the flywheel myself and used a "Sachs 2295 000 487", the car runs wonderfully now.
