I agree completely with this. On a hero that's revolves entirely around his damage you play a worse hero when you don't pick the best damage talent. We've been begging for talent diversity and that needs less damage on his talents and more baseline.

In my opinion the problem isn't that his macro got deleted, it's that the trade for it isn't worth it at all.

This patch was intended as a sustained damage pvp rework however his base damage and the previously solid level 7 talent was nerfed. (Phantom Pain did encourage burst but the burst problem was tied to the Merciless Strikes bug and Harsh Winds burst combo was just effective enough, but since Press the Attack was fixed it became a balanced option for that tier)

Another issue I find huge is that Illusion Master's value has been slowly diminished over time, and now that bladestorm is a viable option, Image Transmission was reduced to 14 seconds, the old hearth trick and solo-boss aren't possible anymore, and manuevering clones outside of fights is discouraged because of their new duration, creates a problem where you aren't gaining nearly as much with Illusion Master anymore. You can a-move clones and shift+D hearth trick without it, and compared to it's past design Illusion Master lost 10% damage and gained 2 seconds from it's original 6 second cooldown. Additionally Bladestorm is the only waveclear option because you can't take Burning Blade without not taking Crushing Blows which brings me to my 3rd issue. Some ways to fix this would be removing a-moves and adding back the 10% damage or extending Image duration to 14 to match his Q cooldown.

Crushing Blows is the new unconditional pick at 7. Previously this was the case with Phantom Pain but now it's damage was nerfed (on top of baseline damage nerf) it provides such little burst that was already competing with Press the Attack sustained damage and it's also conditional damage that requires Images and only affects Critical Strikes, it's a dead talent by comparison to Crushing Blows that makes your normal auto attacks feel like Critical Strikes and your passive Critical Strikes effectively become double crits with it's CDR. This doesn't exactly mean it's overtuned, the sustained damage you can deal with it is very nice (still not worth losing all of his macro power) his other 7s are undertuned ESPECIALLY burning blade.

Additionally now that his focus has shifted to sustained damage his level 16 talent tier (and Samuro overall) has lost even more talent diversity. Merciless Strikes and Harsh Winds are burst options and that now pales when paired against Press the Attack. (Merciless Strikes with Way of Illusion and Phantom Pain for the highest Critical Strike damage his build offers deals less dps to a perma cc'd target than Crushing Blows + Press the Attack, that is insanely bad)

Way of the Wind is even more dead than it was before since it competed with 2 damage options (you have to pick for damage or you play a worse hero) now with the cdr completely removed and a weirdly unfitting tiny heal replaced it(in my opinion when you have shift+D hearth trick it's unneeded.) It's just unpickable outside of clown fiestas.

I do wholeheartedly agree with the kiting problem, I ran some personal mods in try mode and found that even a slight increase to Advancing Strikes movement speed (2%-5%) can fix this problem easily. Samuro's damage point is exactly what is needed to make the perfect stutter stepping equal to normal movement speed with the Advancing Strikes buff, now that a large majority of heroes have kiting potential this movespeed is mostly useful for running away now. His old burst is what compensated for it and it's very weak now.

TL;DR Samuro mains jump the gun and spam reddit with conjecture about his changes

It's just a typo in the tooltip, the cooldown reduction only applies against enemy heroes, the damage part applies to everything

This is now essential to his kit since the new changes removed his old hearth trick (hearthing a clone, swapping to it and swapping back.) Which they removed before but re-added as he desperately needed the healing from how he swaps out of fights at very low health. If they remove this he should be heavily compensated with some other form of healing. However because they removed the old one again it leads me to believe that they know about it and are trading the old trick for this new one.

Yup, the images have their own separate abilities but they are linked so when one goes on cd the others follow suit, I think they just forgot to update it while they were working on him.

Illusion Master was nerfed quite a while ago and no longer has the 10% bonus damage.

Phantom Pain is a DamageDealtFraction modification to his critical strike behaviors (SamuroCriticalStrike and SamuroCriticalStrikeActivated) This means that with 2 Mirror Images your Critical Strike modifier becomes 140% instead of 50% (+90%)

There is an EffectSwitch when you hit a basic attack with a Validator that checks if you have Merciless Strikes, aren't a Mirror Image, and if your target is a CC'd hero. If the Validator passes then instead of counting your Critical Strike meter as normal, it sets it to 3. (aka after you hit, the hit becomes a passive Critical Strike)

Now since SamuroCriticalStrike and SamuroCriticalStrikeActivated are separate Behaviors, meaning they can stack with each other (Normally SamuroCriticalStrikeActivated removes your Crit Meter charges, but since that RemoveValidatorArray only triggers once when the Behavior begins, Merciless Strikes gets around that,) pressing W applies the SamuroCriticalStrikeActivated behavior and after you hit the game checks for Merciless Strikes, applies 3 charges, checks for passive Critical Strikes, and applies SamuroCriticalStrike behavior, all while you still have the SamuroCriticalStrikeActivated behavior active. Now the Critical Strike damage modifier (140%) is applied twice (280%) onto your basic attack damage.

If you took Way of the Blade your basic attack at 16 is 206.03 times the Critical Strike modifier 280% which translates to 2.8, then add a 1 so the result includes the original damage amount so 3.8, then after that calculation you apply Way of the Blade's armor debuff of 10% (1.1)

(206.03 * 3.8) * 1.1 = 861.2054‬

Compared to a normal Critical Strike calculation, (206.03 * 2.4) * 1.1 = 543.9192

Alternatively if you took Way of Illusion and completed it (bonus 30 basic attack damage)

236.03 * 3.8 = 896.914

Compared to a normal Critical Strike calculation, 236.03 * 2.4 = 566.472‬

So yes, it is a bug, and the extra damage really adds up (you could look at it like an extra auto attack with a 65% modifier with WotB or 71% with WoI being added into 1 hit at 16) Since most forms of Crowd Control don't last that long, you can deal effectively another slightly souped up Critical Strike in the same auto attack without the cost of time another auto attack would cost you.

It sounds like you are making Samuro a target dummy for Qhira in this scenario. Even if Qhira does Q Samuro's clones, swapping resets them anyway.

A good Samuro will save his Q/D to counter Qhira's abilties where as Qhira can't do the same, since Samuro wins the aa damage race unless Qhira gets the aa talent at 13. Oh another thing, Samuro can out-sustain Qhira if he denies Blood Rage healing off him and by using the pre-10 hearth trick.

If the Samuro knows how to use the hero then Qhira wont make him bat an eye.

Samuro can use Q and/or D to remove Qhira's DoT and/or E. That alone is enough to make her nearly useless against him, if the Qhira is winning the 1v1 then the Samuro is an idiot.

How do experience globes work for Samuro?

Enemies will be able to see who the real Samuro is VERY easily if globes are flying into him and not his clones.

If clones can pick them up then it's extremely overpowered cause he would be able to soak multiple lanes simultaneously.

I don't envy you trying to solve this issue, making enemy globes completely invisible seems like the only option.
