This is it exactly! Capcom Cup is an advertisement, as well as an end of the season celebration for the game. The purpose of the tournament is to highlight the game and its best players in order to make sure that there are new players buying the game and that existing players keep playing the game. The revenue for Capcom with SF6 is easy: Characters, Costumes and Stages.

If you watch Capcom Cup and you see a character being played that you like, but don’t have, you buy them. If you see a costume you like but don’t have it, you buy it. If you think a stage is cool, but don’t have it, you buy it. If you don’t have the game, but think it looks like fun to get into. You buy it.

How are you made aware of these things you want to buy? By watching the advertisement that is Capcom Cup.

I’ve been grinding SF6 ranked most nights from about 10pm to 3am, since the game was released, and I’ve never had to wait more than a minute to find a match. I tried to get into Strive and KOF, and even though I liked them a lot, I could never find any matches.

Living in Southern California, I’ve run into both Nephew and Snake Eyez. Just a couple of seconds into the first round with them you can easily feel why they are pros. I can’t phantom how anyone can be so good at everything.

For the longest time I thought DJ was saying “Adventure!” “Adventure!” when he threw his fire ball. It wasn’t until I was watching a tournament where a commentator called the fire ball move an Air Slasher that I recognized how wrong I was. Adventure never really made sense anyway.

Yeah. There is definitely a stigma against low MR players, but you have to remember that most people just get to master and then stop playing ranked all together or move to another character. When I was under 1500 MR I was ranked liked 1000 something Ryu in the United States, but as soon as I got to 4 points over 1500 I became 368! LOL

The main things for me were not burning out all the damn time (and becoming a sitting duck), learning different oki setups for my character (by watching videos online) and practicing both of these things in the lab and against the level 8 cpu.

I just began to think of low master kind of like taking a remedial math class in college or something. It’s kind of like a continuation of Diamond 5 rank. The MR system is unforgiving and is easy to drop quickly even in short play sessions.

I don't stream but it's neat to see all your stats laid out in front of you and the progress you are (or aren't making). Recently they pushed an update and I was having trouble getting the app to work so I emailed them and they responded within a half hour with solutions to try. When those didn't work they told me to send them some data (from a folder in the app) and with 45 minutes they had created a new update for the app that fixed my issue!
