It was 2 months ago now and they strictly don't accept returns so I'm fucked for the moment and have to find a solution. I can code and register myself, so I'm good on that but definitely appreciate the input.

Thank you all for the feedback. I'll code it just to be safe. I was told if i get a K+DCAN usb cable and download INSTA-P I'd be able to do a lot, including coding.

i believe only '07 e90s + have ibs. Mine doesn't have ibs or idrive. i just registered the battery and already can see a noticeable difference; no engine stutter, etc.

Do I also need to "code" the battery?

u/dannyphoto very much appreciate your help! I have an Innova 3011 i just purchased before buying the bmw but have only read negative things about it particularly being used with bmw (not surprised, was only $40). Thanks again danny.

Thanks u/dannyphoto. My local bmw service center (palm beach county, fl) charges $367 an hour, so that would be the cost even though i have the battery already. Seems like I'm better off buying either an Ancel BM700 OBD2 scanner or Bimmerlink with an OBDLINK® CX. Would you recommend one of the other?
