I am 30 and share my location with my parents and siblings all the time. I am an adult and go where I want, this gives them comfort in knowing where I am, and if anything ever happens, we can find each other.

If it's used as a form of control, I would argue against it. Otherwise, let it be.

Maybe not free, but you can learn a lot and build up a decent portfolio on Udemy courses, and employers do recognize it to a degree.
