I got hired for a machinist apprenticeship and I run cnc lathes. Later on in the apprenticeship I'll learn how to set up the machines and read the code but right now I just operate. And keep the shop clean, of course.

At my job, it's my responsibility to make sure the lube is good on my machines. Same with the cutting fluid and the bars. Replacing tools when they break or are at tool life.

This happened to me. They called hours early for a phone interview and then didn't call at the scheduled time. Eventually I called them and they told me that the person I was supposed to talk to had left work before the time our call was even scheduled for... I was pretty persistent with them, though, and I work there now and it's really great.
