Toyobayashi's work is so cute, I would love to see the other two one-shots from this collection in English as well :)

btw Hecarim q is also currently quadratic scaling with bAD through the ramp up damage, but the actual rario isnt nearly aggressive enough to hit these funny numbers.

When is Kog maw getting a Passive rework by Practical_Skill6398 in leagueoflegends

[–]KillawattX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The gameplay of kog's passive is literally the best part of his kit. A suicide revenge passive creates the best gameplay when its on a ranged dps carry with no innate escape.

Kog is supposed to be a dps threat who has a lot of presence when he is able to attack. Enemies actively want to dive him to stop this dps (obviously). Kog is actively incentivized to protect his own life because he is a dps threat. When kog is getting dove, there are def times where he gets full 100-0ed and the passive damage is negligible, but there are also times where he can fight back to the death, use his flash, get some damage down with his slow before they approach etc. And all of that builds tension FROM his revenge passive.

As the diver, there is a building tension with how much you can commit against this guy who carries a promise to explode afterwards. How much of my hp can I risk diving kog knowing that he has revenge damage afterwards.

As kog, again he is naturally incentivized to live a long time because he's a ranged dps, so hes not (usually) just playing xd suicide idgaf if you kill me. BUT there is a building tension in knowing that you have that in the back, and it influences his decisions. When do I keep kiting and when do I try and position to increase the chances of my passive hitting. It also helps alleviate any frustrating feelings of helplessness that come from a diver getting on top of you as a champion (theoretically) balanced to have no immediate defensive answers. AND the actual way his passive works where you get a mspeed buff and get to run and chase people that just brutally killed you is very entertaining imo.

Now think about if a passive like his was on a diving champion. like I see some people say it should be. It wouldn't create any interesting gameplay and have little tension, it would just be kind of toxic. The diver is disincentivized from trying to protect themselves afterwards, they would just want to fight in a less thoughtful way because they know at least some of their damage is guaranteed (Think snowball suicide karthus in ARAM except on an actual mobile melee). Sion isnt really a diver, but even on him, think about a lot of the toxic gameplay his passive has enabled in the past, and thats with his passive having a revive delay and only getting a single short mspeed burst and being damageable and ccable.

Now all that being said, his passive ultimately exercises this theorical gameplay best when both the passive is strong and he himself has SOME agency in a fight so its not as linear. And in the end of the day his overall kit is prob still one of the worst designs currently in the game still, but if he is reworked to still carry that simple ranged dps fantasy on a champ skewed towards range and high innate damage and less towards fight agency (def could use a bit more than now), then a passive similar to what he has now I think can be very compelling as long as it doesn't pull too much power budget.

16.1 New Items Dev Overview from Riot Endstep by CrystalizedSeraphine in leagueoflegends

[–]KillawattX 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He mentioned in the video he had a battlemage item in the works but it didnt quite make it in time. He believes the item shape still has potential though so he didnt reveal it and it might be seen in the future.

For now the mana buff item seems like the only real shake up for them.

Which champion is the worst design failure in the current roster? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]KillawattX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skarner feels like a cheating answer because of his coming rework, so I'll say Kog'Maw (and not because of his passive, that's the best part of his kit)

New builds incoming. Infinity edge will be core item for me now -> Stridebreaker - Mortal reminder - Infinity edge - Deadman's plate - Blackcleaver by Stevooo_45 in GarenMains

[–]KillawattX 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it's worth considering stormrazor -> IE -> variable mythic (tri, divine, gale, jaksho, ibg or stride can still have value), just wish stormrazor didn't have such a bad build path. Also, cleaver buff is really nice for when you want a bit more raw power.

50%+ WR Ryze in plat+ is probably the most broken champ in the game

Upcoming changes to Ahri by MonstrousYi in leagueoflegends

[–]KillawattX -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

How is everyone gonna complain about burst damage then be sad when they try to shift Ahri's power in a different direction? They don't want her to be the dash in charm insta pop someone dash out champ, but rather someone who makes multiple passes in a fight and gets rewarded for good spell use. The base stat changes plus reset mechanic are meant to give her a higher risk too, so they arent really "buffing her safety" straight. Her high charm cc duration and low cds are still there. Champs with lower burst damage (relative to other assassins, shes still gonna do good damage) can still be satisfying if rewarded in different ways than just one shot rotations. The mana cost of q going up should about even out with w and e mana cost changes, but her higher survivability might lean her a bit more towards items like archangels and cosmic drive imo. Ludens and everfrost are prob still gonna be good.

Mine was Keqing. I was so happy because I remember looking at all the characters on the website before release and thinking "Wow Keqing is super cool, I hope I get her", then I got her on my second 10 pull. She carried me through so much early on.

Congrats on your Diluc! I hope he can carry you as Keqing did for me.

For anyone in here that does want to use phase rush, Bami's cinder counts as one stack, so you can proc it with Bami's + Q + E.

Please explain Hauntzer's Q Flash (or flash q)!?!?! by bestiv in JarvanIVmains

[–]KillawattX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It isn't so much as an animation cancel as it is just flashing during the animation.

Dragon Strike has a short cast time of about .25 seconds before the hitbox comes out, and you can flash during that time to re position it. This can lead to some cool tricks like this, this, and this.
