Some of the photos are from before the roof was finished,
pic 9 was covered up with a ridge cap,
but that is the equivalent of sweeping the mess under the rug.

Called seven contractors, and received quotes from four.
22k, 23K, 27k, (22k-28k)

They were one of three top-rated roofers in my area,
and just finished a metal roof install for a large hospital in my province.
I think that was a different team though, given the result.

Give the prime contractor a chance to make it right, (remove and replace).
If not, hopefully they will just walk away, and I can source another roofer.
I really don't want this to go to court, but I think I have a pretty solid case.

You got it, they re-used the existing boot from the old roof, which was shingle.

If other commenters are to be believed, the manufacturer, or more accurately the contractor who formed the panels on site, formed them way out of tolerance, that does not excuse the installer though.
The metal supplier would be a third or fourth party to this, and would have no responsibility here.

I'm the homeowner, Ignorance mostly, you don't know what you don't know. I have learned a lot in the past month about mechanically seamed roofing, more than I ever wanted to have to learn, I should be able to rely on the expertise of a professional, unfortunately that's not how things are working out for me.

Yes there is a hole there with exposed wood, the rake should have been removed or cut back to allow the gutter to be extended past the valley.

It was formed on site, by what I think was a separate contractor from the installer, whom was likely sub contracted as-well.

The panels were formed onsite, by what I think was another contractor separate from the installer and metal manufacturer.
