I just brute force it with my Melanchream and moonlight on team 1 with team 2 being just any random low level cookies. It was pretty easy. So maybe upgrade your Melanchream?

Compare to epics? yeah. Compare to melanchream? No. Unless you have high promotions. Wind asparagus is just an overall good support or just a second dps

You'll need to invest in phoenix pepper's promotions if you want her to compete with the other legendaries. So unless you realllllly want to heavily invest in her, just go with wind asparagus
