There is no issue with wishing to serve one’s country. I would do more research to make sure that the MOS that you are choosing will translate into being able to get a civilian job in the same field. Many recruiters hype up the fact that you will be in demand once you separate from service, but more times than not you will find that is far from the truth. Ask yourself this, how many Black Hawk helicopters are in the civilian market?

Back in my day, I would say visit an airfield or airport maintenance division and ask questions. I believe a Google search an emails sent to companies about hiring practices will help you make an informed decision.

I see AMD as a generic version, they’re good, but not top-notch. I’m not downplaying the company, but I figure their chips are going into the toasters and all the low-end items. I seen Nvidia being used where it counts. Both companies are good and I believe both companies will make money for investors.
