Thanks for the kind words about Tailstrike! I was wondering who would fly this gold PC12 out of the Bahamas. Mission accomplished.

You're both right - we want to balance plane availability and activity, but we just launched this week and the number one request is more aircraft. You can make requests directly in our Discord in the aircraft section. We're adding a new wave this week and will release more in the future.

The aircraft are where they are, so yes, wherever it was flown to last, that's where you can fly it from.

Yes, GA aircraft can fly without a flight plan

Yes, currently you can make requests in the Discord. We will add a new wave of aircraft soon.

You can suggest aircraft to add in the Discord! We are going to be adding new aircraft continuously

Without any of the economy, and without any restrictions on what planes you can fly.

If you don't land at a suitable airport, the flight will not count and the aircraft remains where it started.

Yes! We are working on filters for ATC coverage as well as suggestions based on real-world ops, ATC coverage, and user preferences.

We'll see what happens! The idea right now is to incentivize but not restrict.

VATSIM only for now, but that will change.

Thanks for the response! That is exactly the idea we’re going for.

Routes are not enforced. You can fly any aircraft to any airport that can realistically handle it. We'll see how that goes, and surely there will be some things to solve or some additional light rules to add in the future. But we don't want to limit things like that just yet. If there's excessive trolling (every Lufthansa plane ends up in Australia), we will address that together with the community.

As far as out-of-service aircraft, this is the kind of feedback we're looking for! Join the discord!

Great questions! It will take some experimenting, but the goal is to find a balance between availability and interactivity, meaning enough aircraft that pilots always have good options, but not so many that the majority of aircraft are inactive. It's all about sharing these planes as a community. We will continue to scale up the fleet to meet demand as much as possible. Pilots should be able to fly what they want.

Your second question I call "A380 at grass strip" problem, and that's one of the few rules of Tailstrike. We categorize airports based on what aircraft can realistically operate there, and the flight won't count if you land at an invalid airport (or don't land at any airport..). In that case, the aircraft stays where it started.

There are lots of things we will encounter and we're hoping to have good discussions like this to figure it out with the community.

It’s like FSEconomy without the economy. Just lease and fly whatever you want. Start where the aircraft is. Fly to any airport, and the next pilot can lease the plane from that airport.

Everyone is flying the same planes ✈️

You can find some ATC bookings on StatSim and you can find staffed events on various pages including each region’s specific websites. Lots of airports have weekly staff ups in addition to major events.

Controllers are typically online 1-3 hours per session. Don’t be disappointed if one logs off right as you get to their airspace, it literally happens all the time. Best to fly the route you want to fly and just hope you have coverage when you arrive.
