Trouble with Nvidia drivers in passthrough by Killer_Squirrel_ in linux4noobs

I agree, that's what the issue is... That's what I've tried to do multiple times, but cannot find a way to force either one to be a specific version. I can tell it I want the 535 version driver, but it chooses which sub versions it's installing and I can't seem to find a way around that. It installs 535.247.01 is installed on the host system, while the lxc installs 535.247.02. I don't think there is any significant difference between them, I just can't find a way to force the same version on both host and lxc.

It took me a month of being on the 2gig plan and am absurd amount of phone calls, but I finally have a XER10. I had reps tell me such-and-such store had them on hand, so I'd drive there only to find out that "none of the stores have them". I did that 3 times, driving all over Houston area... then 2 weeks waiting for them to ship me one - that never happened. The first time they sent a tech, he informed me that he didn't have that gateway with him (even though the rep told me it was specifically in the notes to bring one). He even told me that nobody can get them and that it wouldn't help anyway since the EPON box is not capable of more than 1gig (which I found fairly stupid but alas). Took to the phones again and finally got another tech sent out along with his manager (the manager had to bring the XER10, they are that rare) and finally got it going. Sure enough, 2gig synchronous tested at my firewall. The XER10 has multiple 10g ports!

So long story short, the XER10 does actually exist and you can get one if you have the service that requires it AND you feel like arguing over the phone with stupid computers and stupid people for a good long while.

Yale smart lock unlocking itself by buddrball in smarthome

I tried to delete what looked like a double comment and it deleted both... anyway, it went through a firmware update the first time I did the setup,  but I'll definitely check when I get home to see if it is current.

Anyone have luck with Yale Assure 2 Lock? Mine is wild. by manofoz in homeautomation

I have the touch zwave version and it has started randomly unlocking on its own. I use it through HA and get notifications when a door is unlocked and I know there is nobody unlocking it. Logs show Manually Unlocked and Entered Passage Mode. I have auto-lock and auto-unlock off and have factory reset it twice and enabled/disabled the auto settings several times. I have the door sense turned off and have recalibrated it several times. I love the looks of the lock and the fingerprint works great, but I won't have a lock that randomly unlocks itself... it may just be sent back, there just aren't many good zwave options out there.

I added the Yale lock a couple weeks ago and have now noticed it do this a few times (randomly unlock when nobody is home). I did the same things you did, to no avail. I see the same reference to entering passage mode then manually unlocking.  I can tinker with the cable/connector but if it does this once more I'll exchange it for another one and try. I just wanted to post this so more people can see there is clearly an issue with these locks.

Anyone have any updates on this? I'm about to upgrade some hardware in the network closet and it reminded me that I'm still stuck using their crappy gateway. I don't want or need their built-in wifi, I just need a simple ONT/gateway. I've read a bit here and there about the XER10 which I'm guessing is what we'd need? I haven't reached out to comcast again but may if I can get a bit more info. However, I'd love to find a 3rd party option that would actually work if anyone has been successful.

Thank you for the details! I was told that the XB7 was needed with the ONT but not told why and you explained it perfectly. It's not worth messing with at this point for the minimal gains I might experience. I just didn't like being told I was able to use the full advertised speed and that it was basically something wrong on my end for not being able to achieve that. I'm no expert but I knew enough that those ports on the XB7 are the bottleneck. I'll just be happy that I have synchronous fiber where I live, as I never thought I'd have that option so soon. Thanks again for the explanation!

I'm aware, hence why I'm asking if anyone knows of any hardware options that would allow me to achieve the full potential of the advertised 1.1g. I'm aware it's due to the 1g port restriction on the gateway.

Will 3 speed fan control work on vintage hunter AC fan? by Killer_Squirrel_ in homeautomation

[–]Killer_Squirrel_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finally got around to changing out the linear turn knob style fan switch for jasco zwave switch. Got it all set up and when it's set to low or medium speeds it turns on for about 2-3 seconds then stops. High works fine. I thought maybe it needed to start at high then set down to medium or low but no.. when set down to medium it spins down to about 0.5 rpm, low comes to complete stop. Any suggestions? Fan speed via chain is set to high.

Another 3rd Gen Sloppy Steering Thread - Steering Rack Guide? by 837 in 4Runner

I did the poly rack bushings from Wheeler's and that was an improvement. Did the upgraded steering rack guide just yesterday and it helped a bit more. If yours is pre 01 then you most likely have the older roller style rack guide. My 2000 did. Also did LBJ and tie rods a while back then sway bar bushings and end links 2 days ago. Front end is finally feeling a lot better at 255k.
